Topic: Used 1978 Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst

A guy at work is selling a fretless wonder '78 Les Paul Custom in Cherry Sunburst... for $2000.
Someone is stopping by to check it out, and I told him if he doesn't buy it to call me.

I think it's a good price, there's obviously regular usage wear over the last 30 years and the frets are very flat.
This is still a good price though right?

I bought by black '72 custom back in '94 for $800.
I like the 70's Norlin Les Pauls! Skinnier necks and a volute never bugged me! smile
Plus it's 99% stock, just a volume knob was replaced.

I think thats a great price.  78's on ebay are running around $2300 to $2500.  Try buying that same style custom 2011 model it would be like $3000!  Go for it!

Intersting story with it: I guess I bought it from someone in the Four Imperials... a old legendary Doo Wap Band in Detroit.
The guitar player's nickname was "Doc" and there's some pics with his name on them in the chainsaw Gibson case.
