Great read! I met Joe in Peoria and he signed my Gibson LP. He's definitely as nice as they come. And the concert was mind blowing. Front row seats. Amazing time.
Big E, Great post. I really enjoyed reading that. Man, I would love to go to a meet & greet sometime. I saw Joe last week in Cincinnati. It was my third time seeing Joe and the first two shows were outstanding (2009) but I was completely blown away last weekend. His guitar tone and performance on "If Heartaches Were Nickels" was unbelievable.
By the way, I would have to say the meet & greet would be at the top of my current bucket list.
Great story. Thanks for posting the link.
Someone has to fill me in on how you get into one of these "meet n greets". I was at Westbury yesterday and would loved to have been able to be part of it.
I met joe in a guitar shop in glasgow. They have a boutique section downstairs and I could hear someone playing down there. I thought to myself F%^* me that guy can play. I go downstairs to find Joe playing a les paul through a bogner. I should've got the plastic out and bought the les paul he was using to see if some of his skill rubbed off.
I had a quick chat to him and he signed my ticket for the show that night and gave me a couple of his signature pics.

Yeah, let me know as well.
I've only met him in person once. He was loading his gear into the tour bus. I've never been that lucky since.

Volunteer for and do street team work promoting Joe, then ask for a meet and greet from his mgt. M&G are also available at some shows via PBS donations as part of a seat package. This costs about $150 for the package, $90-100 for the seat (good ones) and $50 for the meet. You can also promote JBXP and get fans to sign up there. 50 signups get a meet. Basically, you either have to donate your time or money. There also were ticket/meet packages attached to his lithograph purchase. Those ran about $300 and sold out in hours.
We got ours through the lithograph purchase, my friend Sean's wife bought Sean the lithograph for his birthday last year and he got the passes that way, he was nice enough to give one to me and my wife. So the 4 of us made a day of it in Tuscon. I never heard of Joe until Sean and I starting talking an a friends holiday party a few years back, since then we have been to 3 Joe shows and countless others and I count Sean as one of my very close friends, thanks to Joe's music and a conversation about the blues!

I need to write more post like that by far the most traffic my little site has every got! Very cool!
I met Joe in 2005....he played a tiny gig in Blackpool that sold out with a crowd of under 100. After the gig Joe just walked about the room chatting and swigging from his bottle of JD! Happy days.
I had the priviledge of meeting Joe this past Saturday at a Meet and Greet (thanks Alexis!) prior to the Massey hall Toronto show. What a great guy he is! He was so gracious and accomodating I was just blown away...I got him to sign the bottom plate of my JB Fuzz in gold paint pen - turned out awesome. Joe even mentioned he saw my Youtube demo of the Fuzz ! AAAAH! I should have known he might see it! That night the band blew the roof off the place. My eyes even welled up during his solo on "If Heartaches Were Nickles" - I have never heard a more soulfull solo. What an amazing experience - I will never forget it.
Here are some pics...

I think my bucket list will get a little shorter this year. I purchased a lithograph of Joe yesterday which includes two show tickets and a Meet & Greet session. I am REALLY looking forward to this!
