Re: Is this the JBLP Studio?

Call your favorite Gibson dealer.

If this model is handled by Gibson the same way they handled the Epi JBLP model, talking to a local Gibson/Epiphone authorized dealer isn't likely to do any good.  Most of those stores got shafted on the Epi JBLP.  The one I visited got their Gibson rep on the phone while I was standing there, ready to buy/order, and the Gibson guy told the store owner that the model was "sold out" (this was before a single piece had shipped), and that he wouldn't be getting any.  I felt bad for the guy.  I went home, ordered one from Musician's Friend's website, and had it in my hands 11 days later.  Keep that in mind the next time you recommend that someone "shop local."  Sometimes the manufacturer makes it impossible to support the local dealer...

I don't think Gibson has released much information as yet.

That's kind of why I posted my original question.  Folks are saying they've pre-ordered (and I believe them), but HOW?  I haven't found anyone online taking orders on this particular model, and even Gibson/Epiphone's website has ZERO information.  I was hoping folks here could point me to a vendor taking orders/giving specs...

If you watch the videos from the link provided in the first post, you will see and hear the guitar.

I did.  Frankly, I like the look of my Epi JBLP better...    wink

Re: Is this the JBLP Studio?

As I posted before I pre-ordered mine from Troy at Wildwood Guitars. (303) 665-7733 Give them a call unless your opposed to using a phone. Honestly I don't know of any website where you can pre-order this online right now.

Good Luck!

Troy was the dude at Wildwood who helped me pick out my Bonamassa Burst. I highly recommend him!

Re: Is this the JBLP Studio?

My local shop has one on order for me, so it's possible. I guess they just have to have the right connections.
I'd call some of the major online sellers instead of just on the site.
I would also recommend Wildwood. They are easy to work with and have great customer service.

If all else fails, I'm sure they'll be popping up on ebay.

JBLP (aged) 293, JBLP STD, JB ES-335, JBLP Studio, JBLP Goldtop Epi, JBLP Inverness Green Epi.

No doubt.  I just don't have the time or the patience to call every Gibson dealer or guitar website HOPING they'll be getting one.  As I mentioned already, the No. 1 Gibson/Epiphone dealer in my vicinity got frozen out hardcore on the Epi JBLP.  I doubt this time would be any different, since they're making even fewer of the Studio model.  If Gibson wants to make it this difficult to buy their guitars, I'm fine with that.  I already got my Epi JBLP...    tongue

Wildwood is one of Gibson's top US dealers. If they say they can get you a guitar they will. I've bought several guitars from them in the past. Never once have I had a problem. Since your happy with your JB Epi I guess it's all a moot point. Rock On!  big_smile
