Topic: The Taft show in Cincinnati on 3/19

Really pumped about the upcoming concert on Saturday!  Taking my son and hitting Mike's Music before the show and then having dinner.  Just barely missed Joe last year at Wilcutt Music in Lexington, KY.  We've seen Joe about 8-10 imes in several states and always enjoy his performances that have gotten better each time.  Keep playin' dem Blues and book a Louisville, KY date soon!

Re: The Taft show in Cincinnati on 3/19

Hey Mojo, I am looking forward to Cincinnati too.  My wife actually said today that she would like to go so I immediately booked two tickets.  Nothing left but balcony seats but that is better than staying home! I saw Joe last year in Louisville about this same time.  Then I was in the second row for his show in Evansville, IN.  I can't wait to see his show again.  He has worked up a lot of new material since I saw him last August.  It is a long drive from Southern Indiana but it will be well worth it!

Joe was brilliant!  My wife was amazed, her not being particularly familiar.  A solid 2 1/2 hours non-stop.  The acoustic performance absolutely brought down the house.  Nothing short of astounding. Thanks Joe.

I agree.  Joe was brilliant.  It had been six years since my wife joined me for a Joe-show and she said his singing was really good, better than the first time.  I liked that he started with some familiar stuff and then got into some of the songs off the new release.  I liked the firebird head stock on the guitar that he used on "Slow Train".   It was the fastest 2 hrs and 20 minutes.
The only negative (not Joe's fault) was the amount of people moving from their seats during the show.

Yeah, that's weird isn't it - people getting up and getting drinks in the middle of the show.  And did you see the finish on that Tele Joe played.  I had a tele once and never liked it, but man that thing was gorgeous.  Nobody puts on a better show than Joe and without all this Kiss-like pyrotechnics that so many bands use.  This on top of being a stunningly brilliant musician.

Joe was incredible last nite at the Taft!  Played for 2 hours & twenty minutes.  We really enjoyed the performances, song selections and the time spent with the band.  The venue was o.k. but stagnant (hazy) because they did not circulate any air and it was warm inside.

I would like to know if anyone has the Set List for this show?  I would like to get the songs in order of performance??????

Thanks ... Brian

It was an outstanding show.  It was my third show of Joe's and my wife's first.  My wife is more a Mellencamp/ Keith Urban type but she really enjoyed the show. Her only complaint was the volume.  The acoustic  part was outstanding.  It was also the first time I had heard Joe play "If Heartaches Were Nickels" live and he really tore that song up.  His vocals just keep getting better, and somehow, so does his guitar playing!  I agree on the people moving around during the show.  I was in the lower balcony and people were constantly up and down the stairs.  If your gonna drink a lot of alcohol, gets seats in the back near the restroom.  My thinking is, when I go to see someone as talented as Joe, I don't want to numb my senses with too much drink. I want the full experience.  IT WAS A STELLAR SHOW!

Cincinnati, Ohio is now known as Bonannati  Johio! What a great day I had visiting there! I’ve been fortunate to see Joe 5 times and 4 of those being within the last 11 months. All 4 shows incredible, as anyone that has seen Joe’s show live will always say. Joe, Rick, Carmine and Tal really sounding incredible and you can tell having an absolute blast on the stage doing it. Cincinnati had it’s own great vibe and excitement I was able to experience while passing out flyers to fans as they entered the show. New fans excited to find out what was in store and old fans all a buzz about Dust Bowl and the experience that is seeing Joe and band perform live again. The Cradle Rock opening really got the crowd fired up then straight in to So Many Roads, and Joe’s vocals were just killer on this and I knew immediately this was going to be one very special night to remember. Straight in to SILT, and the momentum and excitement in the audience is picking up. Then probably the best performance of If Heartaches Were Nickels I have seen so far. It is honestly hard to describe how good this song was, certainly one I will not forget. As Slow Train started I heard the guy behind me say to someone “I think this is that train song you heard on the internet!” they were loving it! And Dust Bowl, WOW! This song was awesome in Vegas but it is at a whole new level now. During Joe’s guitar solo the gentleman directly in front of me was so excited he literally jumped up out of his seat and with arms in the air with so much emotion, you could tell everyone was just as moved and enjoyed seeing him so into it not a single person complained and asked him to sit! It was so much fun to see him so excited.  A major jam broke out on Lonesome Road Blues, Carmine absolutely killed on this song another one of those moments you knew these guys are having a BLAST!!  Of course Woke Up Dreaming was over the top too, love seeing the crowd react and sit on the edge of their seat. For me it’s the song I never want to end because it is so mesmerizing to watch Joe play. As the Just Got Paid encore was ending the aisle near the front of the stage started to fill as some people came forward to take photos. Our seats on the end of the aisle I’m a trying to get one last picture when I see Tal raise his drumsticks and toss one into the crowd. Then the 2nd one, it came several aisles back and I could tell no one had caught it. In true Bonaholic form I immediately hit the ground on hands knees and there it was right in front of me as it hit the ground! I couldn’t believe it, as I got up from the floor and turned back around Jimmy was doubled over & practically in tears! I wasn’t sure if he was crying so hard he was laughing or laughing so hard he was crying!  The 1st words out of his mouth “I knew when you hit the deck you were going to be the one to come out with it!” It really was a great way to end the day and the last of my 4 show run in 4 different states. Thank you, Joe, Carmine Rick, crew and team at J & R for making it such a memorable evening.

Here is the entire set list:

Cradle Rock
So Many Roads
When the Fire Hits the Sea
