Topic: Have you ever gone to buy a set of strings then this happens ?

I walked into my local music store today to get some new strings and the guy who always serves me says to me have a play on this, it was a 2010 '59 Les Paul Standard VOS faded Cherry Burst.

Big mistake because I knew I will buy it.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me at this store, I have bought 2 Custom Shop Strats in similar situations

Congrats - that is a lovely looking guitar!

Fortunately I've never done this, because I know that if I ever did, my wife would beat me to death with it...  lol

Congratulations, great guitar, you'll love it im sure. I have an R8 in washed cherry and its my go to guitar.
I've been there myself, and I know Joe calls a couple of his guitars 'a $XX00 diet coke' for similar reasons
Funny how easy it is to convince yourself you need another guitar  smile

That's an expensive set of strings, but hey, at least it came with a free Les Paul!  Congrats, that is one gorgeous flamey top.

yeah, and its not that they cost so much more, but they actually depreciate in value and looks and trading them on is a freakin' nightmare!

Yeah these guys always take me into a part of the store called "The Vault" where all the good toys are kept.

But there is one guy worse than me (we go to the same guitar teacher), he has been buying at least 1 Custom Shop Gibson a month

I have only started buying good guitars at 1 a year for the last 4 years, before that I have only had one guitar a Ibanez Blazer I bought used in the mid 80's and I only sold that last year.
