I had a bid in (for about 15 min) that got cancelled by the seller, then it wouldn't take another bid from me.

Is this some kind of scam?

Could be...but he probably made a deal with someone outside of eBay. If it sold through the auction, it likely would have closed for more than $4500. Ebay would take a nice chunk of that. So this way he got all the publicity of an eBay auction without paying the sold item fee. It probably only cost him $.75 to list it. More money in his pocket and the buyer gets it at a fixed price instead of having to compete with all the bid bumpers.

Then again I'm just speculating  big_smile

I think the guy was scared that he wasn't getting the $$ he hoped for. He still didn't get all the bids canceled before the auction ended so it shows it sold for like $450 or sumthin. Fleabay won't make him follow through or give him a strike as they would a non-paying bidder.

My mistake it sold for $102!!!  lol   lol   lol

The last two things that I have bid on have ended like this.  Last day and bids cancel.  I'm done with Ebay, seems like the cons out weigh everything there.

Everyone here who bid on that guitar needs to file a complant againt him.  Maybe its good that none of us won this guitar. It tells what type of person this seller is.

Ebay would not let me end the auction, The guitar suffered a broken headstock last night, the only thing I could do is cancel bids, sorry.

I've ommited his name.

I want to see photos of the broken guitar. He had to have made a deal outside of e-bay.
