Topic: closed back vs. ported or open back for EVM12L

Maybe some of you can help me on this...
What sort of cabinet best suits EVM12L?

If I just wanted a 2x12, would something like this be better?

Notice it could be fully or partially closed back....


i did notice The cabs joe is using from Van Weelden are SUPER deep. Almost like boxes instead of cabinets.

Nic, one of Joe's new video interviews has him mentioning these. (I can't remember which) I think he said one is ported and one is closed. He did say they had problems with one and were stripping the screws out on the cab due to sound pressure!

Check these out...kind of the best of both worlds. I have a 112 with an ev12l, sounds huge with the 50 watt carol ann od2.

I like open backs myself.  Closed backs project more forward but Open backs sound fatter to me.

Great,  he was a great guy to deal with and will built to your specs. I would definitely have tried one out first if he was local.

2x12 EVs sounds like a back breaker though...I love the idea of milling channels to reduce the weight. He didn't have that option when I got mine.
