New member here.
First hear of Joe B. late last year.
Local Kansas City PBS station aired his 09 Albert Hall gig for fund raising.
I remember watching him on TV thinking 'who is this guy, and why don't I know of him'?
Bought the Albert Hall DVD.
Checked his tour dates, bought 2 tickets and saw the KC, MO show last week.
Friend I took to the show had never heard of Joe.
We were BLOWN AWAY...!!!
Interesting to note that there was virtually no advertising of his KC show, yet the 3,500 seat theater was nearly sold out.
Bob...
Welcome Bob. The reason you've not heard of him is because he is an Indy and there is zero corporate backing other than his own. All word of mouth and internet from his rapidly growing fanbase. You've found our secret, now spread the word. Lots of back catalog for you to catch up with too.
Rick
Rick, That now makes sense. Thanks.
I like the indy style. Have always believed that if someone has a good product or service, they don't need to advertise once the word-of-mouth positive comments take hold. JB is a perfect example of that.
I am spreading the word...like it was religion....!!!
I lent my Albert Hall DVD to a friend and he was at the recent Kansas City show with his girlfriend.
Another friend and his guitar playing son were there. Only the son knew of Joe.
All were blown away by the performnce.
I see that the local PBS station is back into fundraising mode.
Hope they keep showing the Albert Hall gig as that seems to have increased the fan base considerably.
So now I start looking at his CD's.
Any suggestions on what to buy first..??

All of them!
Well, since we must work within our means, Live From Nowhere In Particular will give you a good shot and is a double CD recorded during a tour. Excellent. and from his "new band era". Then add others as you like. There is not one cut on any of his releases that is not stellar.
Use my link to shop his store if you want. Thanks and enjoy the ride. Sign on to JBXP with my link and get a free compilation download for the trouble as well.
Thank you,

A very warm welcome again to all the newbies!
Like I said many times before: this site is growing so fast that it is impossible to welcome all the newbies personally.
Thank you all for joining and enjoy your stay here and keep posting!
Indeed, too many newbies are appearing too regularly for us to properly welcome new members as they should be welcomed, hence the reason for this all-purpose welcoming topic.
So, to all the newbies - a sincere welcome, tell us about yourselves and don't be shy to post. Only very few of us bite.
Please start a new topic for introductions, many more people will see your post that way.
Welcome one and all. I read the intros here and thru-out the forum. This is a great place where JoeLove is encouraged. Thanks for signing in and contributing. "It takes a village" Cathy

Hi, I'm Steve from Perth Western Australia.
Great fan of Joe for a couple of years. He's a guitar god to me.
Really looking forward to seeing Joe live in Perth in 2 weeks time. I can hardly contain the excitement.
Welcome Jhonsons and Stefonix. Enjoy Joe's forum and his music. Steve, there are more than a few Aussies posting here, all anxiously awaiting Joe's second tour. Be sure to post a show review for us. We feed on that stuff until he rolls around our parts next.

So wonderful to see folks of all ages from around the globe joining the forum. Sorry I can't say a personal hello to each of you. IF I win the lottery and don't have to work so dang hard, I'll be a better greeter. All are welcomed and each person matters. This is a great community and I'm sure it will be enriched by your presence. See ya at a show!!! Cathy
Hello, new to forum, however long time Joe fan. I have a question, how do you get concert pre-sale codes for early purchase of tickets for shows?
Hi, welcome to the forum. Maybe you could tell us a bit about yourself and how you got to know of Joe's music. Those that come here and immediatly ask for codes are usually suspect for having other motives than supporting Joe. Codes are NEVER given out here.
Rick
Time to once again bid all recent newbies a warm welcome. Please hang around beyond that initial post, new blood is always a good thing in any community!
Hi, new member here from Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
First got into Joes music a couple of years ago, seen him twice so far in Edinburgh (2009) and Glasgow last October.
Looking forward to seeing him again next month in Nottingham and London.
I'm into a wide range of music across the rock spectrum, blues, heavy rock, heavy metal and even some of the noisier stuff like Slayer!
Good to be here,
Murray
A warm welcome to all recent newbies, and to those yet to register!
I hope that those of you who have made the effort to post an introduction in this forum will continue to post, and not just leave it at the introduction! This entire forum is a wonderful resource for everything Joe-related, as well as for discovering other artists you may not have heard of.
Jump right in, we don't bite!
