Topic: Live From Nowhere In Particular - JB Rig Question
Please forgive me if this has been covered before, my search didn't uncover the answers I was looking for...
Everytime I listen to Live From Nowhere in Particular, I'm floored by the guitar tones (and, of course playing, Joe! ). I've read a lot of posts with great info regarding Joe's rig. My question is... was there anything different in place at the time for this particular (no pun intended) recording?
I was close to pulling the trigger on a Germino Lead 55LV a while back, but needed to put that idea on a shelf for a while. Now, I'm again considering it. However, what I'd really like to get is a Marshall-type head that offers up the sound I'm hearing on that recording. I know Joe uses a dual amp set-up for each of his tones. I have a Lone Star and a Blackface Super Reverb that I could use to pair with it (no Dumble style amp at the moment--although the ZenDrive into the BFSR gets in the ballpark, if only in the cheap seats! ), but what I think I'm hearing sounds like a nicely overdriven Marshall lead circuit--maybe this is the Jubiliee, maybe this is the sum of the two amps, maybe this is just Joe's magic fingers.
Curious if this is mainly the Jube, something else, or what the dual amp pairing is. Also curious if this is the EV's, or if Joe was using something else for that recording. It just has a special quality to it.
Cheers,
