Topic: Hello from Iowa

Just stopping in to say hi from the boondocks, Iowa.  I've always liked blues music but didn't spend a whole lot of time listening to it until a year or so ago.  Unfortunately, there are no radio stations in Ames that play it full time (you can catch a few hours if you're up early on Sunday, which I am so it works out well wink

Anyway, Joe's name had been scrolling across the marquee in town for a couple months, so I had seen it but didn't know who he was.  Money is tight enough that if I didn't recognize the name I wasn't going to buy a ticket, so I didn't care.  Then I heard some of his music on a Sunday and I had a "hey, that's that guy" moment.  I liked what I heard on the radio, so I bought a Cd and loved every song on it, then I bought a ticket for the show tonight and I'm a fan now.

I like most genres of music and have tried (and continue to try) to learn to play guitar but my ability is underwhelming.

Congratulations on a good CD purchase.  cool And welcome! My story is kinda similar to yours, was exploring blues music and a friend suggested Live from Nowhere in Particular - and I was hooked. Pretty soon you'll collect all his albums and videos. Enjoy the show! I'll be seeing him live for the first time in a few weeks (3/23).
