Re: Which guitar in Joe's tweet?
Funny when I met him in Tuscon he said he was "Saving his Scheckals" for something special.... Maybe that was it!

I think id sell a kidney AND a teste for a real '59. I am very happy for Joe though. If anyone deserves it, it's him.

Ouch and that would still only get you a third of the way there!

So what's the estimate of what a guitar like that costs?
"First night with 9-0829.... this guitar is gonna change my life.. It was Epic... Such an inspiration.."
Which guitar was this?
2nd attempt to answer - check out this web page - http://www.burstserial.com/serial.htm - as it shows the Serial # 9-0829 under 1959
I've seen them anywhere in-between 200k-500k.

WOW!. I guess sales of Black Rock and the BCC album must have been pretty good. I'd give it its own bunk on the tour bus too for that much coin.
According to the latest issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine, the value is between $300,000.00 and $350,000.00!! Possibly more or less depending on condition etc. Apparently from Joe's twitter post, Eliot from Rumble Seat Music in Ithaca NY came through in spades for Joe!! Joe has bought and sold many guitars at Rumble Seat. It's one of JB's favorite stores and no doubt Eliot is a good friend of Joe's.
Stay Safe Y'all!!

It just absolutely fits in with Joe's mantra. "No Closet Queens" It will be reliced good by the time he is done with it. What a treat for the fans to get to hear an instrument like that! I'll attest that it sounded mighty fine at the two shows I attended!

I think it would be neat if Joe sold his used strings, especially off of the '59.

Logan, Joe has been donating some of his used strings to Strings For A Cure, a cancer charity which makes the strings into jewelry. Check it out! Not just Joe, but a ton of great guitarists have donated strings to them. Not only can you have his strings, but wear them.
I think he got it from Rumble Seat Guitars. I believe one in that kind of condition will cost around $300,000 due to the top being as plain as it is. They have a 59' right now that has more flames then most custom shop gibsons have right now that I wouldn't be suprised if they were asking $450,000 for. Its the best looking example I've ever seen assuming its in original condition.
BTW don't refret one of those guitars because I read that even guitars that have to be refreted are worth more with original frets then if you refreted it and had it playing worth a darn.

Yes, I forgot about that. Really cool thing to do.

Hmmm... this wallpaper photo from rumbleseat's website looks kind of like the one the boss is talking about. I wonder.....could this be the one?
Pretty sure that's not it exactly...but equally as nice.

Too many guitars of this ilke never get to see the light of day, never mind a stage ! For fans who appreciate guitars, there will be two stars on the stage.
Not really interested in what Joe paid for it, if it was his dream to own one, good for him, he's worked damn hard for it !
Looking forward to seeing it in Manchester and Blackpool, nice one Joe !
just found this great wallpaper-shot on Rumbleseatmusic.com... I think the right one is 9-0829

one of the best looking Burst I came across in the web...
PIT...
I am really interested in hearing what Joe has to say about this. It is exciting to know that one is going to get played on the road...maybe? At least on albums.
Whats the story Joe... We dont need to know the price but It would be nice to hear you talk about it.
I love how some people put videos up of Sioux Falls but none are with the new guitar... It figures.
