Re: Joe and Robben Ford jam session

I love all the Joe haters on Youtube...everyone's a friggin' critic and obviously world renowned guitar virtuosos themselves  roll  .  "Too fast", "no soul", "disrespectful", sheesh it was a Fender event...they were there to play guitar!  Some people don't realize that when you come across certain guitar players at certain stages in their careers that they are ON FIRE.  Young SRV, Hendrix, Trower, Clapton, EVH...heck even Yngwie or Vai  there was NOTHING subtle or laid back about what they played.  Joe had that same energy and hunger on that clip IMO.  Now it seems he has mastered both the fire and precision which is what makes him one of the scariest guitar slingers on the planet right now!  cool

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

I still wonder if that guitar was a Clapton Signature model with a rose wood maple neck bolted on it.  Maybe its the one on the new day yesterday dvd???

that's what I thought, too... it could have been done easily...
however in the New Yesterday DVD the Clapton-Strat had a maple-neck (again?) ... maybe Joe can join in and let us know...  big_smile

Re: Joe and Robben Ford jam session

Thats what I thought, he just decided to put the original neck back on.  But he has also said on here that when he was a kid he tried to mod out strats and make the strat but it never worked out for him so he only buys guitar he doesn't plan on changing anything to them.  Oh well, I'm glad I don't ever have to worry about Joe blowing me off the stage like he did in this video.

Re: Joe and Robben Ford jam session

What a great clip!!! Never seen that one before.

Does JB really wonder why there WAS (I emphasize WAS) a SRV comparison? Da Hat....Da Hat.
