Topic: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

This busy bee will be flying into Kclinger's in Hanover PA 3/2. I'm going unless Winter decides to play ugly that night. She's in Hagerstown the next night. Get out and see her so she'll keep our neck of the woods on her future tours. Here's the tour info:

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

She is going to be in Florida when Becky and I are there - and not too far from where we will be staying.  Already got my Mom trying to round up some folks to go see her with us.  I'm very excited.

How about that Phil? wink Plan to have my camera along that day! Maybe I can catch a photo or two of them together? Hey, maybe Tallan can introduce me to Joanne? cool

Here's the lineup and can you believe it's only $13 US?  http://www.gnbs.org/gnbs/shop/index.php … oductId=81

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

That's twice now she has played Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester within the last year and I was away on business both times. Well at least I've gotten to see her perform twice so far. Say hi to her rhythm section too, Layla Hall and Paul Lamb. They're awesome!

Over 650 miles to the last show on the tour Aug 27 at Point Arena (the name of the town, not an arena)... I'd have to catch a flight to Oakland or San Francisco and then STILL a 3 hour drive....I'm asking Bonnie Raitt to show up at the show, so maybe???... hmm  hmm THAT would be something!  cool  cool

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

Cathy, thanks for the heads-up on the CKlinger's gig... I now have it penciled in for next Wed and I should be there.  If for some reason you're not going to make it, please let me know, as I may opt to stay home rather than hang out alone.  Anybody else in?  Carl?

Oh and Cathy (and whoever else may be going), what time are you planning to arrive?  I'm thinking I should go early to claim a table since it's such a tiny place, so I might as well have dinner there too, though I don't feel like eating alone and hanging out alone for a couple hours.  You're probably in the same boat, right?

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

I can't believe how close Joanna is to me and I can't go!!  She was the warm-up act for Johnny A this past Friday night, an hour from my house, but I couldn't go.   hmm

Have fun everyone!! I will have to catch her further on up the road...   smile

Vikki:  Unfortunately, I am otherwise committed that night and will probably not make it, but am going to (maybe) try to catch the Hagerstown gig the next night.  KClinger's takes table reservations but often tend to be full up well before showtime.  Don't know if that's the case or not, but it's worth a call to see if you can and then you can be assured of a seat.

Enjoy if you go!

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

ViK, I'm going, and as early as I can. It really depends on how my pt's are. I have an early meeting Thurs. so  I'll be leaving before the end, sadly. Regardless, I'm sure I'll make dinner, so count me in. Looking forward to it smile   Cathy

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

Carl:  Thanks for the reply and the reservation idea (done!).  Let me know for sure then what you're doing about Hagerstown, because if I know there'll be someone there I know, I may make that one too, who knows.

Cathy:  I just called KClinger's and reserved a table for 6:00 under the name TieDyeVikki.  I wasn't sure what our total count might end up being, but the table will fit up to 4.  I told them we'd be arriving around 6:00, having dinner, and would want to keep the table for the night.  It's a good thing I called (thanks Carl!), as they said they already have a lot of reservations for that night.

Jane:  Where are you?  You in?

Anybody else here from that general area?  This is a good chance to catch a nice, cozy, intimate JST show.  And for cheap too... $8 cover!  (And the Hagerstown show the next day is only $10.)

Vik:  My pleasure...we used to be up there rather frequently when they were having consistently good bands (and food/service) but to quote BB King "the thrill is gone".   Can't get to see a national act much more "up-close-and-personal" than KClinger's though, I think we were 5 feet from JST last time?  Have fun and I'm about 75% sure about Hagerstown - I'll post something for sure by Wed. night.

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

Ooohhh, another evening of envy coming up for me, but an evening of great fun for Granny and Vik.  cool

I'll have to check out kclingers when next possible, as I have discovered that they serve 41 draft beers in a bar about the size of Cathy's kitchen.  lol

Please relay a hug from me to Joanne.  wink

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

Lucky old me, called Cathy and got Joanne and Vik thrown in for free!  big_smile

I also was told that Joanne will be at Hagerstown in June, which means that I'll finally get to see her again!  tongue

(Alas, I can't wait up for some live phone music, just too damn late for me.)

Re: Joanna Shaw Taylor MD/PA shows

Great show tonight!  They had a real nice turnout... the place was pretty packed.  I also should report (for Carl's sake) that KClinger's staff was super friendly, we had good service, and I had a wonderfully juicy cheeseburger, mmm.  Good to see ya again, Cathy!  cool

Jane:  No taper friend with me tonight (and I didn't notice any others, though who knows what may surface), but honestly the sound system in there ain't the best anyway.  Joanne's vocals were muffled and coming through a speaker way behind us somewhere.  But the band rocked!  Shame you couldn't make it... maybe next time.

Carl:  Let me know if you're definite about Hagerstown Thursday night or not.  If so, I'm going to try to make it, if I'm not too tired and/or broke.  I'm also going to try to get ahold of a friend of mine in Greencastle (we went to college together in Hagerstown 20+ years ago) to see if she can make it... I know she'd dig this music.
