Topic: Hello from Runcorn!

Hiya everyone. First post on Joe's forum. Have been lurking for quite a while just to see the variety of topics being covered.
Have just bought my tickets for Blackpool in October - thanks to Planet Rock presale, I've got Row 3. Not too bad - I was front row standing at the Apollo last year. The ONLY place to be at a JB gig!!

I'd thought I'd politely ask Joe to cover 'The Story of The Blues' when he comes over here later this year. Gary Moore is/was one of my heroes. There's been a lot of requests for 'Still Got The Blues', but my view is that TSOTB is the best thing's Gary's done, and I'm sure Kevin Shirley and Joe could put together a bloody great version of their own, as a tribute to the man.

I'd like also to throw my three pence worth into the 'SRV-is-the-only-man-who-can-play-a-Strat' and the puerile 'Joe- Bonamassa-is-an-SRV-clone-except-he's-nowhere-near-as-good' argument from The Blues Police: my response is Get a life! SRV would have been PROUD to have been on-stage with Joe Bonamassa.

Joe is the best thing that has happened to the rock/blues scene since a very stern looking 18 year-old Ritchie Blackmore took to the stage all those years ago.

Rock on lads and lassies. smile  cool

Welcome to the Forum. You're amongst friends here. As you're from Runcorn, here's a date for your diary. Sandi Thom (Joe's Girlfriend) plays Runcorn Brindley on the 30th April. Get yourself and some friends down there to her show. You will not be disappointed, she's really excellent. Sandi and her band have supported for Joe on a couple of tours, great musician, singer and harmonica player! Great band too!
