Topic: Thanks for warm welcome JB crew!

What a great group Joe fans are.  I posted yesterday thinking a few locals might want to chat about the upcoming concert, but realize now that the locals must not know enough about Joe yet.  That's too bad for them.  I hope they come out to see him.

I am a high school industrial technology teacher (shop teacher) in Waukee, Iowa.  I also coach boys' golf at the same school.  My wife and I are DIWTC(Double Income With Two Cats).  Out of the two of us, I am the Joe fan.  I am an avid music fan.  I have very diversified tastes.  I grew up a drummer, but have since traded the drumsticks in for golf sticks.  Still have the drums, just don't find the time to play them.

I found Joe Bonamassa last summer while I was watching the Palladian TV channel on dish network.  Dish Network had the Palladian channel as a special free channel for a month.  Anyway, I saw some good concerts from some groups I grew up seeing in concert as a youth on this TV Channel.  And then one day, I switched over to the Palladian channel and it happened.  There it was, Joe Bonamassa - Live from the Royal Albert Hall.  I sat, I watched, I listened, and I was hooked.  Wow!  I immediately had to have the DVD and the CD.  I ordered both from Amazon.  I'm not sure how many times I have watched the DVD since August, a lot. I've been searching youtube and playing additional music from Joe.  Joe is a phenom.

I am taking my brother to the show next Saturday in Ames, Iowa for his birthday.  My wife doesn't share the same passion for Joe as I do. My brother and I are going with a friend who played lead guitar with me in a band in college.  My brother is a guitarist/songwriter and has never heard Joe.  My bro is in for a surprise.  He has been seeing Joe in Guitar World magazine quite a bit in the last year.  We are all three pumped and excited to see Joe and his band.  Mountain Time has become my new favorite song.  It's a pleasure to join a group of people like JB fans that have a true appreciation for quality music and quality musicians.  Rock on! cool

Welcome! I'm sure you'll all enjoy the show, would love to hear about your brother's reaction! Mountain Time (from Live from Nowhere in Particular) is really what got me hooked. But yeah, RAH is awesome.

Welcome jkgolfer. Be sure to give us a report after the show on the show review topic. We love to hear reactions from Bonavirgins. You've heard his recorded music, but that is just a taste of what is to come. It will be over far before you want it to be and you, like us, will be hooked solid and wanting a lot more.  big_smile Be sure and look for Pattyluvsjoe and the Banner. Hook up with her and you will be on the road to Bonamania for sure.  cool
