Topic: 'Sloe Gin' backing track - For review

Hi all, I have been scouting the internet for ages looking for a backing track for Sloe Gin that I can play along to, but couldn't come up with anything.  I really love that song!  cool

So - two days ago I decided to sit down and try and create one from scratch, playing all the instruments myself.  I did it all in Garageband, and I used EzDrummer for the drums (via a MIDI interface), and also used SampleTank for the violin/viola parts via same MIDI interface.

It is based on the studio version of Sloe Gin, without the extended outro.  I know the live version is quite different.

I would welcome any feedback on how I can improve this.  It is the very first time I have ever tried to create a backing track of any sort...  yikes

Wow - that many listens and downloads and no comments on it.  Didn't realise it was THAT bad...I'll pull it down off the site today... hmm

Haha - thanks Jonny.  I was SERIOUSLY thinking it was really bad as no one had given me ANY feedback on it, so I assumed they were junking it and didn't want to hurt my feelings...  tongue

don't worry man! It sounds awesome and is very cool to play along too as well! Especially if you download it and then use software called Guitar Rig (amp simulation) so you can play along to it with the guitar and the track coming out of the same headphones.

Ya, now you know I am going to want to see clips if you playing along now...  big_smile

Ironically, my own lead playing skills are lacking, and I still need LOTS of practice before I can be worthy of playing the JB parts to this backing...  roll
