Topic: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

On February the 25th Henrik Freischlader will release his new CD -Still Frame Replay-.

As very special guest our Joe Bonamassa performs on the album!!
As I mentioned  on this site before (see other artists - Henrik Freischlader) Joe and Henrik know eachother about 4 years and they did a tour in Germany where Henrik was his first part of the programme.
But now for the first time together on CD!

This CD will be the most rocky of the 4 studio he released before. Was his last CD -Recorded By Martin Meinschaefer- more bluesy, this one isn't. It is produced by martin again so the sound will be great again.

You can order the CD or LP already at the onlineshop at Henriks website. The album will be send 5 days before the official releasedate.

The CD  is15 euro, as a double LP you pay 35 euro.

Re: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

Yeah Andre can't wait to hear Joe hooking up with Henrik again, 2 i feel of the most varied musicians on the Rock and Blues circuit currently around who are trying new avenues, good to hear Henrik is now gonna Rock, this is a much anticipated follow up to Martin Meinschaefer CD which was just stunning, gotta catch up with Henrik live sometime this year, he got such a great vocal sound and with emotional guitar work, my cup of tea
Remember Andre i think we were at the first Joe/Henrik show they played together in Blues Garage Isernhagen Hannover Germany back in early 2007, i knew then Henrik was awesome, man he was good he certainly warmed up the crowd that cold night
some great releases due in the coming months with Lance Stoney among others
There gonna be some rockin' as Bon used to say  big_smile

cool I was so lucky to be there when Henrik played this song at a gig in November and it was absolutely mindblowing.
It's not really one of my top 10 songs but it was played so darn good ...  one couldn't resist the groove  cool
Expectations regarding the new CD are high.

Re: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

The album came out today and only one word describes it - Awesome!!  The title-cut with Joe is a new highwater mark for Henrik and crew.  The simmering "The Memory of Our Love" is one of the best slow blues I've heard.  Like his last studio album there's more than just blues.  "Gentlemen" has a snappy r&b thing going that reminds me of John Mayer and the poppish "Growing Old" is just a great little song. This will probably become my favorite album of his and a strong contender for best album in 2011.

Re: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

My review of the album is on www.bluesmagazine.nl since yesterday.

Agree  with you Curby. I said the same about In Memory of Your Love: a classic slow blues! The opener with Joe is stunning.
That perfect harmony: voice /guitar so typical Henrik. That's why he is so special to me, like Joe. They have more in common then they might even know themselves!!

What I really think is great: He writes all songs , lyrics and melodies himself. Perfect English for a German! Compliments.

Andre,
You know what they have in common is they're without peer in their respective continents.  Henrik sings better than about 90% of English singers.  Amazing.  I'm going to have to read your review later, but it's much anticipated.  Btw, has there been any talk of a US tour?

Re: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

I'm really looking forward to this. More and more artists are choosing Joe to collaborate. What a great combo!

Intended to buy the CD at the next gig, but now that I read you review and some others at the website of Henrik I couldn't wait any longer. CD was ordered yesterday.

Re: Joe on new Henrik Freischlader CD -Still Frame Replay-!!!!

Good post Curby. I received my copy of the CD too and it is a great album. As Curby mentions it's a more diverse album than Recorded. The title track with Joe is a great heavy introduction. There's plenty of great blues guitar on tracks like Longer Days and Come On My Love. In The Memory of Our Love has already been mentioned, a sublime modern blues ballad. What's my name might see it get a parent's advisory label though. Like Curby I'd thought of John Mayer when I heard Gentlemen, and Henrik pulls it off well with his superb sence of melody and vocal range, while I've Got It Good is a swinging jazz number, I kid you not! There's so much that will appeal to existing fans of Henrik here and yet so much more too. And your right Andre, Henrik's singing is better than 90% of native English language singers, and his songwriting is so far ahead off many too. There's no fan of Joe who would not like this album, so get the pre-orders in now! smile

I look forward to finally seeing him at his first UK show at Maryport on 29th July and the tour in September.
