Topic: FASTEST GUN IN THE WEST
TIME MACHINE STUCK BETWEEN 1857-2007 Dated May 9th
Excuse my twang
Travelling south down a dusty road thru the heart of Texas , my purpose to locate the fastest gun-guitar in the west , Rumour has it , that hes been seen around these parts , timid locals bolt their doors and latch up their windows , cos when Smokin Joe Bonamassa & his gang are in town , only the brave come out to play ........ I hear hes hiding up at The House of Blues on North Lamaar in Dallas ....... As i hit the outskirts of Dallas a chill comes over me with Anticipation of how this shootout might go down ..... Later that night as the sun sets on downtown dallas there were a few blue jeaned folk milling & strollin outside saloon ......... As i walk thru the swing doors , eyes quickly shift left & right , heads turn back to their drinks , i gulp with braveness and head tward the stage.
I see the Sheriff of the joint whos smiling at the now filling smoky saloon ..Well theres talk theres a bounty on him , cos recording type city folk want his signature... apparately better LIVE, i stroll up to the bar , so dry quench my thirst ...... Whistles & shouting as the restless folk get rowdy , the staff blow out the wall candles , so the place is only lit by smoke and the amp lights ..........
Some shadowy figures appear before me ( i think i read that somewhere before) ..... there was a young looking fresh faced hombre with a guitar strapped to him & 3 amigos behind him , looking like they could look after themselves , theres Bad Boy Bowles on sticks & Cool hand Rojas on the Bass and last but not least Quick Finger Rick on the keys ... the 4 bandidos then set about to unleash some bad#ss tasty texas tunes to the opened mouth dallas locales who in turn whooped it up ....... Jeez the joint was smokin ........ The said leader of the pack Smokin Joe was shootin from the hip with wildness abandon with tunes such as , Blues Deluxe & Mountain Time , the boots were tappin & the dusty floorboards were jumping and the band played on , More barnstormers like Burnin hell and the Smouldering oozing atmosphere of Sloe Gin . .... Playin guitar like a colt 45 of jesse james , it sure was a wild night in texas ........ So you wanna be gunslingers here is one safe piece of advice dont go up against Smokin Joe , cos you just might get peppered with guitar notes and end up 6ft in the ground , hell bury you outta sight. some say hes just tuned 30 and hell slow up , but i tell ya one & all ..... he aint slowed up none heck ..... HELL NO
Last i saw of Smokin Joe was he headed out on that silver stage at 2am in a trail of dust
I cant help get to thinkin that another town is gonna get the same treatment tomorrow night
LUCKY FOLK I GUESS ,
