I played through a Green-tolex Trace Elliot years ago...I think this is where Gibson got their design for these amps...& is the Chassis on the Gibson's made in China as well?

I thought I read someplace Gibson was making their Chassis over there to save some money....what else is new huh!

If I had to chose between the Gibson & the Trace...I'd take the vintage-olderTrace Elliot.

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

The old T.E Velocette models became the first Goldtones...pretty sure an extension of T.E custom shop when they were bought by Gibson - again...like Peavey buying things such as Budda...it all goes tits up!

There are so many better amps out there...without the name of course...even the RedBears are better.

Re: Gibson Goldtone amps?

I thought they quit making these a few years back.  Joe Perry endoresed them for a while.  Never had any experience with them but they were about $1000 for a 2-12 combo 10 years ago when I saw them.  I passed because I was pretty much a snob if it didn't say Fender or Marshall on itl.  I've since mended my ways.
