Re: New Epiphones starting to appear?

Just heard from Gibson Europe, Guitars are scheduled to hit UK stores from the 28th February, I know a few have sneaked in already but apparently these did not come from Gibson/Epiphone from thier UK batch but from another batch destined for the european retailers. All seems a bit complicated to me, but hopefully people will start to get theirs shortly!!! cool  cool  cool

Have Fun and laugh like it's your first time! You never know you might get to like it! big_smile

Re: New Epiphones starting to appear?

Well it finally happened ,surprise to me the little brown truck pulled in and gave me a carton.??? No way,the internet giant that it came from wasn't supposed to get anymore till after the first of March, and this one was packed way better than the other two,but by looking at the shipping date it seems this one went around the Cape Horn before it got here. LOL But it's here and most of all in one peice.

First thing I gotta say this neck is awesome, reminds me of the old Mosrite Celebertys, and the one's I learned to play on. The pick-ups are kicking these things are awesome,my old amp never sounded so sweet. I gotta tell ya though,I'm not liking the thing hanging from the string sling, not with the neck problems in shipping.

Next thing is the other one from the Mom and Pop music store in New York where busted Epipy #2 came from. I called to tell them I got one, so when the broke one gets back just do a refund to my card,"OH NO" say's she,"We only do that if we don't have another one for you".  REALLY  ???? Do they not know they could sell this one 5 times over ??? Oh Well. I'm a happy camper.

Considering what the last two went for, it probably won't last too long.

Re: New Epiphones starting to appear?

Ordered mine in October here in the UK with Andertons music.

Just had an email from them saying quote:

"the guitar has been delayed due to an issue with the case that is coming with the instrument. The issue has now been resolved with the factory in China and the guitars will be shipping late April/early May from them, so will probably be with you by the end of May."

Wonder if thats why the headstocks bust so easy ??? The two that I got that were busted, one had a bad latch and one you had to pull the top over to close it. This good one I got the neck rest is crooked, like they had to much socky for lunch. LOL

Re: New Epiphones starting to appear?

You’ll recall the unwarranted comments about the Epiphone JB LP posted on the Gibson website by a few idiots before it had even been released that made us (and Joe) wince. I’m pleased to say that now it’s been out for a while the comments from those who’ve purchased one are, not surprisingly, very glowing (although there is still the odd stupid comment, usually from people who've never even seen one   roll   ). Hey I love mine,it took 3 to get one not busted but I can't put it down now that it's here. The neck, awesome, the sound awesome,I can't find anything not to like about this axe. Except for the wait. LOL

I still got one more coming that they wouldn't let me cancell. If it gets here in one peice, another fan will get one heck of a guitar. Now ask Joe about doing an affordable.Lectraslide for us.  Hint Hint.

That's VERY fixable!  The binding and fretboard are undamaged!  Just needs a new nut, which is a good idea, anyway.   The one I fixed had broken from the Low E tuner hole across to the High E tuner hole.   With this one you found, all you'd need to do is put a condom over the truss rod to keep glue from seizing it up, and then glue and clamp that thing!  A little wood filler and sanding and paint and there ya go!
I did give mine a Gibson shaped headstock, but I left it black with no logo on it.  I put a thin veneer over the top of it and put a Standard truss rod cover on it, too.
