Topic: perspective...?

Does anyone have experience with Tokai Les Pauls? I played one from the late 70s--early 80s that was a really cool guitar for $700. It has a nice, 60s-feel neck, good natural acoustic resonance, a beautifully figured top, and deep, rich pickups.

I'd appreciate some perspective if you know about these guitars. I did some research on the company and know about their history. But sometimes it's hard to separate reality from the hype. They are very proud that there are a couple of videos around of Billy Gibbons playing one.

Blessings,
Larry

Re: perspective...?

I've never owned or played one myself but I have a book that talks about the 70's law suit gutiars and this one inperticular was said to be very nice for the money and during the 70's the Stratocasters being made were nowhere near as good as Tokai
