Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

Thought I'd keep this one separate Jane, as it only contains one piece of information and I know how many common fans visit both forums.

Who are you calling common? lol tongue

In the UK that's not a very nice way to refer to someone, but I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, Roy. hmm  I'll get over to the new DavyBDS forum when I get a mo.

Sorry Phil, I meant that both artists have fans in common OR, maybe a better way to say it would have been, "they both have very uncommon (meaning very special) fans in common. Better? wink lol

Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

I heard Davy Knowles for the first time on Planet Rock this evening when he played Roll Away as part of his Amps Off feature, describing Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam as "obscure". You can listen yourself by clicking the "On Demand" button on the planetrock.com home page. Select Nicky Horne's show for Friday, 4th Feb and wind the timer forward to 100 minutes to listen. Nicky also mentioned that there's a review of one of Davy's April 2010 shows in the UK at facebook.com/planetrockradio

Davy, you've been away from the UK too long.

One must hold one's head at the proper angle, with nose slightly elevated, and sniff pompously, when one refers to "common".  As in "Jones is such a "common" name."  tongue   lol

Yes indeed Phil, I just can't understand his management keeping him away from what is a hotbed of Blues Talent her in the UK. Davy has the potential to soar if he is promoted right. He could take a lesson and follow the "Bonamassa Model" or simply change managers!

Unfortunately not much going on here as well.   sad   I think there are a few shows coming up in Las Vegas but haven't heard too much about anything else.

Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

No kidding? What's the deal with Davy and BDS management? They had everything going for them and then he goes and joins another band, hardly any gigs........ People are going to forget and then he's going to have to start all over?

Has anyone heard anything- whats next for him?

I'm waiting but my fire for him has dimmed lately.

Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

Wish I could she some light, but I have no news to give. I know Davy and BDS played a 4 night gig at a new casino in Vegas just a few days ago, but so far there is no news out there. Right now, your guess is as good as mine.

Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

I have forum fatigue, Roy.

KWS had a new forum a few years back, and this is like Davy's 3rd or 4th new forum... I just can't do them.
And now with the JB EXP, things are just getting too fragmented and dilluted for me.
I can keep visiting here because of sheer habit!  cool

Re: Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam New Forum....

Hi.

Here's a working link to Davy's new forum: http://davyknowles.proboards.com/.

Sadly, there's no link to the forum on Davy's website (http://www.davyknowles.com/), so there's not much going on there. But there are some very interesting people posting there - like Roy (BluesMan) and me for example. wink  And sometimes even Davy.

Musiclova, judging from Davy's comments I think that he want's to finish the new album before doing a big tour again...

I think Roy meant noble fans. wink

Not meant to offend Sir Phil wink , the term "common" above wasn't meant as a "class" of people, it was meant as common fans of both Joe and Davy. You Sir Phil, will always be thought of by me in the highest regard. I must leave you now, humbly bowing as I go..... lol
