I believe it's a tele too. Most likely the '53 Tele Joe has.

What give's it that drifting sound,like in the days of old ? Peter Green had that same sound when he did ,"Albatross".  Always reminded me of the sound just kinda driftin' over the water. smile

i agree it sounds like a tele....i just saw several pics of joe recording in the studio on facebook and he has a tele, a strat and a les paul in the pics posted.....i have no idea what song he was recording but cool to see him using the fenders.
