Hey Tres, how about some cheap US gigs from the past?
My first concert, Robert Plant 1985 $15. Tee shirts (when you could buy them in the parking lot), $10.
Let me think*****.....uh how bout "Journey" in Golden Gate Park around 74....$00....damn that Greg Rolie....and Neil Schon.....was killer with no filler....they didnt need to ride with Carlos Santana....they were stars
Shred
Good old Golden Gate Shred. I could tell some tales. We've got the same thread running here and off topics. LOL

Doobie Bros. & Marshall Tucker Band - approx. 1975 $4.50 US for seats in the very last row of Capital Center - an approx. 16,000 seat arena just outside Washington, DC in Landover, MD. Floor seats were about $6.50, and a friend of mine remembered they used to include a carnival in the parking lot!

Hey Tres, how about some cheap US gigs from the past?
again, everything in this part of the country was $5, 6, or $7 in the early to mid 70's, with Zep topping out at $8.75 in 1978.
Alice Cooper was on FoodTV with Adam Richman Sat(rerun), and I recalled seeing him on his very first tour, also $5.
They put him at the state fairgrounds in the exhibition hall, another concrete floor with no seats. About 100 to 150 people showed, but 4 or 5 songs in there were only 30 to 40 of us left standing. yeah, he scared the bejusus out of some, and we laughed for days about it. Obviously they had not known what to expect.
And there were a lot of free concerts, notably I saw the Allman Bros, Freddie King and Boz Scaggs in college that didn't cost a cent.
Tres
I was listening to the classic rock station here in Dallas, and one of the DJ's said that he saw ZZ Top in 1970 and that tickets were $2.00 in advance, $2.50 at the door. Wish it was still like that.
my first concert was Boston with Hagar opening in Jan of 79.$7.50 on the 13th or 14th row at Tarrant County Convention Center.Held at least around 12.000- 14,000,You could get a ticket a couple of shirts and a Tour book back then for what most shows cost these days at the bigger venues.
Me and my friends (my friends and I) used to go to the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, London on a Sunday afternoon. Doors would open around 2pm and close around 10pm, there we would see over a number of years from 1974 to 1976 - which was last time I went - lots and lots and lots of amazing bands! Entrance fee 50p..or 50 New Pence as it was probably know then lol..
Here's Pink Fairies who I saw there a couple of times ...this video shows a bit of Chalk Farm!

1978 old Milwaukee County Stadium Gran Slam Jam Journey, Cheap Trick, Heart and Ted Nugent $12.00
1983 Milwaukee Eagles Club Ratt $0.97 (saw a number of 97 cent shows that year as a radio promo the one station was doing including Black N Blue, Wendy O Williams WOW and Headpins)
1984 Rock Stage Summerfest Stevie Ray Vaughan the $7.00 it cost to get into Summerfest (also saw Alcatrazz with Ingwie there that year on the same stage and Alan Holdsworth at the Jazz Stage that same year)
2009 Club Tavern Madison Wi Chris Duarte Free
Remeber when tickets were kind of artful and because there weren't computers everywhere you had to call around to various outlets to see what kind of seats they had left at each location?

Well well..... me too, around the same time.. you must have met "Jesus" around this time? Good times!
