Topic: Marshall JTM 45

Anybody have one (newer re-issue) and if so any comments?

I'm looking for a new amp and want something with a throaty growl and not  much of a high gain squeal (if I need that I can add a pedal) and thought this might be  a good option........I'm not into alot of bells a whistles. I like to plug in a go.

I'd love to score a new Marshall Slash AFD 100 but I really don't think it's what I need.

Well a JTM45 is one of the simplest amps...will definitely give you a throaty, thick tone similar to that of AC/DCs I guess....

Re: Marshall JTM 45

The Slash will be a very aggressive sounding Marshall...it's a very good amp, but in a different country altogether from the Slash sig.

Many, many people say that the reissues don't come near the originals...this is sort of true, but doesn't make them bad amps. There are many places/sites like this:

It would be an idea it seems to at least change a few caps...get some of the icepick out of there.

Saying that, Luther Dickinson from the Crowes uses a pair of them...stock. See if you can try one out soon...

Combo? Here's the way I would go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ShCv-AE … r_embedded

Re: Marshall JTM 45

I've spent a lot of hours playing the Metro Amps JTM45 Clone, and it kills! I like it a lot, but I really had to get used to the fact it had no effects loop, and has no built in reverb. Very awesome sounding amp though. The speakers you put it through also make a huge deal there (greenbacks vs V30s)

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: Marshall JTM 45

Thanks for the feedback (I was hoping there would be more though).

Hardest part about looking for a JTM45 is that you can't just walk into the local guitar shop and play one....Nobody has them. Even on the MF web site there is a 45 day wait, which I'm assuming it means they are built to order. I dont know.

I'am looking for a head, not combo, and do want to go the Marshall route, not a clone.

I also know that the talk is the older ones sound sooo much better, but I'm not willing to fork out 4g's for an old one. Plus I'm not sure I'd know the difference unless they were side by side.

If a JTM45 head is is pretty much the same as a bluesbreaker then I think my mind is made up. I just want a simple Marshall amp with that,

Metro JTM45

Simple.

They seem reasonable prices even.. in the UK.

Re: Marshall JTM 45

+1000 for the JTM45

Re: Marshall JTM 45

Damn, Lotta Metro fans.

Re: Marshall JTM 45

I know I've seen it before at the Metro amp web site, but is that who I think it is playing bass in the Metro GPM45 demo?

Re: Marshall JTM 45

Yes, I have the original Marshall Reissue. It's a great sounding amph. You will love it from the first tones on.

Here's mine, maybe my vids help a little bit:
