Topic: I wanna VENT 'bout sumpn
I had a very interesting conversation last week with a guitar player and drummer that wanted to do a quick set at a benefit. We did it and at the end of the set, I was shaking my head. They both looked at me and asked what was the matter and the guitarist/singer hinted that maybe I was upset cause I couldn't keep up. 
I damn near exploded. Through gritted teeth I said "It was not me F'ed up. And the argument started. Luckily I had recorded the entire thing on my Zoom H4, so I pulled it out of my bass case and said "let's give a listen..." and we jumped into their Van and plugged it in to the adapter. I went right to the second song we played, a very simple but fun 1-4-5 blues. "Now listen you pot heads." quoth I.
We counted through the progression and once they changed 1 bar late and then in the solo they changed 2 headbanging bars too early. Both of them! You could've cut the tension with a knife. Finally the drummer said, looking at the guitarplayer, "I was following you!" 
I didn't say another word as I gathered up my Zoom. When I got out, I said, "If I hear of either one of you telling anybody that I was the screw up, I'm coming after you." I was hot. I still have the recording and will keep it for awhile. I'm over it.
When I told one of the local organizers the story on the phone Thursday he howled. I did NOT see the humor until he said, "That's why you don't have any friends round heah.... 
These alkies round heah keep having other alkies tell them How great they is..." 
Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
