Topic: Bridge to Better Days cover

Hey!
Back in October 2009 I went into studio with my band and we recorded a Bridge to Better Days cover. You can check it out here, it's the last song of the 6 songs available. Three of them are our own songs, and the three others are covers...

Bridge to Better Days was recorded with a Gibson Les Paul, a Metro JTM45 head with a 2X12 cab loaded with 2 EVM12L's. I just added a slight reverb (Holy Grail) and pushed the amp a little further with my Fulltone FD-2. And that's it, no other effects!

It's not perfect and I present it to you with sheer humility... There are some passages of the solo that I wouldn't do like this again, but hey, we recorded all those 6 songs in two days (including gear setup) so it was recorded in just one take live, everybody played at the same time, even the singer...

Please leave some feedback here!
Thanks!

I think it sounds great!

I don't charge for mistakes. - Joe Bonamassa

Re: Bridge to Better Days cover

I thought it sounded pretty good!  Nice tone too!  I almost bought a FD2 today but went with a straight ahead 808, though I may by it anyway some other time.  -S

Re: Bridge to Better Days cover

Thank you guys! It's actually amazing what a JTM45 can do with the right pedal! I thought I could never reach Joe's gritty tone with it but it actually got quite close once the tubes were cooking and the FD2 was engaged!

But now it's sold and a Metro 100W head is on the way... big_smile

Re: Bridge to Better Days cover

Very nice job and very good guitar tone.  I have never been able to get along with a FD2 but you sure had it dialed in.

Re: Bridge to Better Days cover

Great job!........how do you like those Metro's

Great job! Nice tone. It has kind of a live feel to it.

A JTM45 is definately on my wish list.

Well, it's a custom creme one... I have never tried the stock red or blue ones but the sound may be different with the custom creme...

I absolutely LOVE them! They're truly awesome and if you have the ability to build one yourself (although it's no longer possible since George Metropoulos has stopped selling kits) then you have an amp that sounds like a million bucks for a grand!

I really appreciate your feedback here! Thank you!

Did you order the creme/cream FD2 thru the Fulltone custom shop?

Re: Bridge to Better Days cover

No, I actually got it secondhand off eBay about three years ago... It's great!
