Topic: Spring Florida Festivals!

It's Spring - the season of awesome Flordia music festivals!

I really want to go to Wannee this year, but I think it'll be too much for my 2 year old (too loud, too much partying going on).  Springfest line up looks great, too, so I think that's what we'll do.  We went to Magfest (like Suwannee Springfest but in the fall) when he was about 9 months and had a great time.  They seem a little more family-friendly, with more acoustic bands than Wannee.  My wife is more into rootsy/acoustic stuff anyways - she saw the Avett Brothers in NY a couple years ago and has been raving about them ever since.

ABB, Widespread, Robert Plant & the Band of Joy, Steve Miller Band, Warren Haynes Band, Derek Trucks & Suzan Tedeschi, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Ween, Stephen Marley, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings... the list goes on.  Amazing lineup, as always.

Avett Brothers, David Grisman Sextet, Donna the Buffalo, Jim Lauderdale, Travelin McCourys, ....

Yes.  It seems that April is the month for festivals in Florida.  We ARE going to Wanee this year.  Whoo Hoo!!! This makes our 3rd Wanee Festival.  Go once and it's a yearly event.  Can't miss it.  But, you're right,  I would not recommend this festival for children.

There are a few other festivals in April that you might be interested in.

April 1,2,3 - Springing The Blues in Jacksonville Beach  featuring Dana Fuchs, Albert Cummings, JoAnne Shaw Taylor, The Lee Boys, Michael Burks and more.

April 8,9,10 - Tampa Bay Blues Festival in St. Petersburg featuring Michael Burks, Robert Cray, The Lee Boys, Tommy Castro, Jonny Lang, Eric Lindell, Tab Benoit and more.

April 30 - 1st Annual Blues Master Music Festival in Kissimmee featuring Eric Gales, John Mayall and I don't know who else.

We can't go to all of them.  We're definitely going to Kissimmee.  Still trying to decide between Tampa Bay and Springing the Blues.  hmm

Re: Spring Florida Festivals!

Found out Joanne Shaw Taylor is playing the Bonita Blues Festival March 11, and then in Brandenton, FL the next night.  Since I am going to be in the neighborhood at that time I sure hope I get to one of these.
