Flame is a bonus...and if you had a bad tone, I'd point that out to you far quicker than saying you had a decent looking guitar.

Nah, skip gold top and get a 61' Les Paul SG.  Problem solved no more maple.

Or a Custom.  They don't have Maple tops, they have mahogany tops.
