Topic: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

I collect guitar picks and  doubt if I'll ever get to meet Joe for a chance to get a guitar pick from him. I would like your opinion if you think the picks sold on ebay were really used by JB or not?
Thanks  Bob

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

You can purchase guitar picks form the JB store, they are the same ones that he uses live.

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

I was a lucky gal sitting in the front row seat at joe's concert in rochester.. unfortunately there was a large pit between us and the stage.. joe threw his pic at me and i climbed into the pit to retrieve it.. to show how kind  i am i gave it to my boyfriend.. now i have to get another for me.. have to find front row seats i guess or something..

that's my take on what i need to do.. he had just finished playing his encore.. so i was thrilled.

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

You never can be sure if he really used them.... It depends how much it costs, if it costs much, don't buy it, you'll never be sure, if they are almost street price, just buy them, not much money so... I got the opportunity to meet Joe himself at a meet&greet (where he also sigend my guitar, played on it...) and he gave me his pick...

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

Thanks to everyone for your responses and help. To Jane H. thanks for the offer but I'll buy the pick tin.  Maybe they will sell them when I see Joe in Worcester in March. Even better my seats are in the balcony and maybe Joe could throw me one with his super fingers!!!

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

£27 for one of his BCC picks?!
lol
That's silly.

additionally i think you also may be asking if they were actually used live by Joe? not much way to know unless the seller says so and if they got a hold of one that he gave or threw to the crowd and then they are selling it, they should be ashamed! UNLESS they are really in a hard way, then they get some slack.
otherwise yeah the picks in the COOL cases you can get from joe's store, same kind he uses, the have his name printed on them. a great deal IMO is the pick tin (comes with 10 or so picks)/keychain combo package for like 12 bucks or something. i just added that to my recent order. the keychain is VERY nice.
if you just want one pick though i can mail you one of you email me, but ain't NO WAY noone is getting the one Joe handed me in hagerstown that one time after the show.

the picks are also great to hand to potential new fans, since they have joe's name spelled properly on them and are small, you can talk Joe up then give them a pick, see them smile, then see them here or at the next show!!

those are the red ones BTW, there are two other joe b. picks that I know of. I don't think they were ones he used personally and I don't have any more extras but there were some white ones printed up for Blues Deluxe and some Purple ones printed up for Budda amps, both that have Joe's name on them

Jane have to get back to you on that one, have a few different ones  wink  colours too

Well with picks we can at least watch the number attempted to be sold.  At Wolverhampton how many was it Joe threw?  Seems I remember 2-3 only at both gigs? I do know at Wolverhampton the last one hit my forearm and fell in the photo area and went to Sue.  The same thing happened at London with the one last one Joe threw hitting me again, and went to me.  I'm not a collector, but I wouldn't sell it.  Heck if I put it in one of my Joe Bonamassa pick tins, I wouldn't tell it from any another.  That is one reason I would recommend no one buying a Joe pick.  They aren't all that special, and even if they were caught, they have lost their intent from the start if sold (given away is another thing)...the original bearer HAD what should be any intrinsic or sentimental value.  It cannot truly be transferred.  Just my thoughts...

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

Well I use the standard Jazz III picks to play guitar anyway...I'd end up using Joe's by mistake...as they are exactly the same as stock, just with his name printed.
I have had a few picks from some big name players, not least John Sykes...which was just a standard Dunlop medium pick - I forgot it was ever from that concert and my mate who caught one too just forgot about it and played with it until it was useless...
I'm not sure how much these things really matter...I'd rather just see the gig, maybe meet the guys and shake hands...and that'd be easily cool enough.

The weirdest thing is if the buyer was a person who wasn't at the gig...I'm not sure why you'd buy it just to look at it everyday and say 'that's as close as I ever got to a phenomenal gig'.

If you could bottle memories and sell them to people... lol

I know exactly how you feel and what you mean too! I really truly enjoy a simple hello above all.   After one extra great BB King show a few years ago, BB, after an assistant had been tossing stuff FOR BB out, BB himself was tossing a few freebies out (he had come out to the stage again after many were out the exits already, don't know what their hurry was!) and I was walking toward the stage to just say a few nice words to the nice man when a pick was coming at my forehead and I grabbed it, said my words and BB was done with everyone... then I saw one guy coming down fast toward the front and he asked if BB was done giving stuff, and yes I said, to his total dismay.  He had wanted at least a pick.  I gave it over and you might have thought the guy hit the lottery! Is that worth more than the money? Hellyeah!  smile

I have one for sale right now on ebay, which came from Joe's show at the Manchester Apollo (UK) on October 15 2010.

I wish I'd thought to look here earlier..... I was about to bid on this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? … K:MEWAX:IT , as an extra birthday presie for my other half!  I thought £26 was more than a little excessive for one pick, so opted out!!  wink

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

There's no-one more surprised than me - I only listed it at £1.99, with no reserve and free postage!

Re: Joe Bonamassa guitar picks on ebay

Hi all, I am new on this Forum. I have a Pick from Joe Bonamassa when he played here in South Germany back several years. He signed it with a "dot" .... How can you sign more on a pick? Iplayed my guitar quite sometime with his pick and the sound is great with that pick. So now I would like to have more of these to play them with my Rockband.
Does anyone know where I can buy his picks - they were: Fender Blues Deluxe, with jbonamassa.com on them?
Kind regards, Uwe
