Aztecs 17-0!
Rick
It's official Kanter is OUT Everyone crying fowl claiming inconsistencies in regard to the Cam Newton case. Even UK's outgoing President and NCAA Board Member had strong words about the decision. Also, it was speculated on tonight's local sports his family may sue the NCAA and file an injunction to allow him to play. Stay tuned.

On a good note the Big Blue Nation gets the best of both worlds with a noon kick off bowl game against Pitt and new starting QB then a 4:00pm tip off for our conference opener against Georgia. High temp tomorrow low 20's F perfect day to stay in & watch my CATS. Any other good conference match ups this weekend?
Deezer you still out there? How are Pelphrey's 10-3 Razorbacks doing down there, you're opening against Tenn tomorrow?
Looking good so far. Yeah, they got drubbed by Texas, but came back strong and beat old Rocky Top. They're 11-3 now, and if they finish .500 in conference (which I think they'll actually do better than that), they'll finish the year 18-11. That's a trip to the NIT. That's an improvement over last year, and with next year's top 5 recruiting class coming in next year, I'll be more than completely satisfied.
Aztecs 17-0!

Stoned them with D. 18-0! Kawhi Leonard is a beast. 15 pts, 17 boards, 4 asst, 2 steals.
I'm licking my lips. See you there buddy. Your team is good and put up a stiff fight. 2nd round on me.
edit: Congrats to Coach Fisher. Career win #400. Oh, Duke lost, now Aztecs own nation's longest streak.
Aztecs are definitely for real. UNLV's a good team. Is the New Mexico game on the road? If so the streak may end this weekend.

Yes Curby, Lobos at the Pit. Gonna be tough as it always is there. I got to watch the entire game last night as it was aired on local cable. Not a pretty one, a brutal war in the paint as both teams brought it. 6 techs for hot tempers after hard fouls split evenly as the refs tried to maintain control. They are for real. We're loving it!
We went to the Villanova vs. Louisville game last night. Louisville came out strong and very competitive in the first half, but 'Nova took over the 2nd half to win by 14.
Anyone who is following the Big East, have you noticed Pittsburgh? They are impressive!! They beat Georgetown by 20 points last night.
Did I hear right, Duke lost one last night?

I noticed Pittsburgh. You heard right, FSU beat Duke! Giant killers. Interestingly, I heard the last big string that Duke had was also broken by FSU.
And Rick, Syracuse is also awesome again & undefeated. In Pittsburgh this Monday night on ESPN they match up. My daughter is taking a bus trip to the Carrierdome for the 'Nova/Syracuse matchup the following Saturday, 1/22. I think a miracle is in order! What a place to be for the visiting team.

I think Pittsburgh is the best team in the country right now actually. Yes, better than Syracuse. Syracuse going 20-0 is almost an annual tradition. At least winning 20 games a year regular season is. It's always how the Orange(men) play AFTER winning 20 that matters most. The Carrier Dome is imposing when empty and the janitors are the only life force in there. When you get the huge crowds......ai yi yi not much fun for visitors... x 33,000. 34k last February when , oooops sorry Angela (and daughter), it was a slaughter 95-77 . Never know though, revenge is a reoccurring theme in the Big East, it could be any team's time for sweeeeet taste of it. Beware the Beast, they may have your number.

That is going to be a real good game. Pleased I get to see it on TV out here. The undefeated teams are starting to see some tough matchups. I don't have a good feeling about SDSU's chances in NM. That is a ridiculous place to play. The epitome of home court advantage.

Would you rather play Syracuse in the Carrier Dome right now to see who emerges undefeated??? Talk about epitome, Carrier Dome is IMPOSING and LOUD...
Did I mention unfriendly?

I hear ya' Rocket and I have the same feeling about Pittsburgh! My nephew is a sophomore at Pitt and he plays for their ice hockey team, so we're adding a little family rivalry to that mix. I don't think my daughter realizes what she's in for heading to the Big Orange (her older brother advised her not to go, which was just the fuel she needed to sign up ) AND she doesn't like long car rides, I hope its a luxury bus and not a school bus, it will make the adventure more fun, win or lose! The heat is on....big east playing the big east teams is the endurance test. Is Syracuse your #1 team?

Born and bred an Orangeman. The Indian, not the Barney-like oversized orange baseball cap wearing dingleberry!

'Twould be an intersting foray to compare which venues are the most unfriendly and imposing to visiting teams. In the MWC, I'd give UNM's Pit the edge. MWC also has the worst travel set up in the country with radical elevations to play at and grueling road trips. There was a funny anecdote about SDSU players in Wyoming stuffing towels against the motel door bottoms to keep snow from blowing in.
Rick
Oh yeah, Angela, if daughter wants to check out local "cuisine" at the Dome, and she can handle a hot dog, tell her check out the Hofmann's German or Coney Dog (the white one-trust me it looks weird but it is really good)...Good stuff, they've been in business a real long time, a local tradition for 130+ years. Or she can check out the also famous Italian Bistro at aisle 126 .

Any of you hoops fans see the new floor design Oregon unleashed? It's supposed to be the view you'd have laying on your back looking upward through tall pines at the sun. Interesting, but a bit distracting you'd think. Wonder if the NCAA will disapprove it or if they had to OK it first? BTW, SDSU 18-0, Ohio St. & Syracuse 17-0, and Duke loses and stays # 1.....what a crock!!!!!
Think Green,
J Dawg
I was wondering when a certain OSU fan would climb in here. Very good team this year! They deserve #1. Duke could be 14-3 and still be #1. The rest are tier 2 teams and my Aztecs are an aberration the east coast media hopes will go away, as well as BYU. Those east coast reporters are snoozing when we are playing and they don't want to have to cover our games. If it ain't UCLA or another Pac10 power it don''t count. The fix is in for the Big East as always. Granted that it is the top league in the country for overall strength.
That floor design sounds crazy. Aztecs played that tournament around Christmas in that rodeo stadium with one end black and the other white. It affected the scoring a lot on the black end.
