Topic: Best City for live music

I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I put it here. Basically, I'm in college right now and there is no music scene at all where I'm at...I was wondering if you guys had some suggestions as to what city (anywhere in the u.s.) I could move and be able to gig out regularly with a band and potentially get noticed. Thanks!

I'd check out Memphis or Austin, Texas.  There'll probably be serious competition in both cities though.  Jacksonville, Florida has alot of clubs too.

I don't mind the competition...I'm just worried about finding band members once I'm there. But a lot of people have been telling me Memphis and Austin.

Well if we are drifting (and it seems that way) to where is a good place to "catch" music...no one, not even London beats New York City.  Getting noticed there is not what it used to be...
However, since Tubesaturation wants to gig out and (??? maybe make it or get noticed) get noticed, I'd say anywhere is as good as another.  You could set up in a cow pasture and play great they'll come from miles around to hear Johnny B. Reallygoode. Local music scenes, even in the cities, have (to me) become more provincial than ever thanks to DYI attitudes.

It is literally next to "Hollywood, Md". 
I am not kidding.

Three Notch Road brings you from Waldorf,  into St marys county, then Hollywood, Md, then California, Md.  Next is Lexington Park, Md, and Patxent Naval Air Station...Md.
