Apparently my wife has bought tickets to Grace's Milwaukee show for my Xmas present. I am so looking forward to seeing this band live.

Rev:  You're in for a real treat....she is a great singer, entertainer, Hammond player and not to hard on the eyes either.  I've had quite a few opportunities to see her, as close as 15-20 feet away at a local blues festival, opening for Gov't Mule, headlining the same venue (9:30 Club in Washington, DC) and she and the band always put on a great, energetic show.

FWIW, I am a much bigger fan of the earlier album (Nothing But The Water) than the last 2 but they are better live than on the record.

Let us know what you think!

Thanks for the pics and videos Sandy, they look great! And good to hear that they´re playing a mix of old and new instead of only focusing on the new album. Did they play some covers too?

I definitely wanna try to see her in NY in March ... but I´m thinking -- maybe I should leave Ben at home??   wink
George - how about a trip in March?

Eva

I said I would go!!!!  What's this leaving me at home thing?! I might leave you at home for the Beacon... both of them smile wooooooohooooooo take that! LOL

Ben

Baby, I think you didn´t even get the joke --- you must really love me!  lol

And NO leaving me at home for the Beacon(s)!!

Eva

HAHA no I got it... I'm just not attracted to her so there is no need to worry.  Ok I won't leave you home for our 2 Beacon shows smile

Ben

PS - Yes I really do! wink

JamBase has published photos of the Dec 11th Portland ME show.  They've also provided an Archive.org link where you can listen to and/or download the show... I'm listening now and it sounds good.

Sandy, hope you don't mind (didn't think you would), but I posted links to your photos and videos of that show in the comments.

Vikki - don't mind at all.  I was actually standing right next to the person who took those photos.  It was a superb show.  Can't wait to see her again, but up to now nothing coming up in my area ( I can't make the NYE show   sad  ).  I've downloaded the show but haven't listened yet.

Eva - bring some very dark glasses for Ben to wear!   lol

Re: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

George - she's gonna be in Boston March 25  (Joe is playing in Worcester the night before).  I think you should plan a trip.  I think she is going to be in Washington DC around the middle of March.

Can't you watch Letterman reruns on-line?

Splendid idea,....BUT, you're in NY and I'll be near Balmer (Hon)  big_smile

Yes, I am planning on Grace in DC in March, but I don't have a ticket for the Joe show in Penna. that Cathy and Jane will be going to...of course, Jane had no idea that I might be there when she booked the tickets...I mean, I couldn't come to the US and not see Joe, now could I?  wink

Someone mentioned on Grace's Forum that they might have a TV set up on the side.  The game should be over before Grace and the Nocturnals make their appearance.

Have a fun night!

I am hoping it's over before she and the band come out Sandy. Trying to watch Grace and the band while the Packers are playing might just drive my eyes into over exposure, if you know what I mean. big_smile  Poor Bill and Jamie, I can't imagine them just sitting there surrounded by Packer fans. Of course, they have something very special happening before the show, but I'll let Bill explain that. wink
