Another excellent album "The Playful Heart". Full of trademark songs with Davey Pattison singing half of them. He has hit a rich vein of form since he threatened to quit touring a few years ago because there wasn't much money in it. But he's done tour after tour and released some great albums. Listen to the song "I want to take you with me" from "Living out of time". It is spellbinding!!

Nice to see a thread on Robin Trower. I listened to his music as a kid and still love it, just don't get a chance to listen all that much. To be honest, when I first heard Joe, it stirred memories of listening to Robin way back when when I would slip the 8 track into the player in the 57 Chevy. Did I date myself there?

If you had said 4 track player, yeah... 
I remember wondering WTF was I going to do with all my 8-tracks when cassettes came along -- but it sure was cool to not have songs split in 2 anymore when the track changed!

Yeah you did. Probably means we are a silmilar age. I bought his first solo album when it came out in 1973 and have been a fan ever since. It was 1980 before I saw him live though on the Victims of the Fury tour. And don't get me started on Jimmy Dewar's ace vocals.................

Thanks for the Trower heads up.....I just bought two tickets for the March 1st gig in Sactown....Frank Hannon from TESLA opens.....then TROWER tears the place up 
....this little place has the vile smell of them escrament and other unpleasant odors....wont be long before the county closes this place up

To the disbelief of many I am sure, but Shredster, I am actually considering catching my man Robin February 19 at the Galaxy up Santa Ana way...which, ahem (wiping sweat from brow), happens to be one night after Joe in San Diego and..., ahem (wiping sweat from hands on pants), just happens to be the same night Joe is playing to a significant gathering of the Faithful from near and far in Las Vegas...did I just publicly say that???!!! Well, I have had seeing Robin on my list for decades...I may end up pulling fingers off on this. Still time to think...

Robin is great! I don't even have to hear anything from the old catalog as his newer stuff is tops too. I have no ticket for Vegas as it as anyway and isn't it sold out?!
As it is, I may be trading a Holy day off in the week just to make it up that Saturday!

Saw Trower here in Sactown on March 1st.....great little 1:15 minute set, Robin playing as well as ever.....Davy Pattison looked as though he was ill unfortunately, he didn't sing as much as I would have liked.....enjoy yall, don't miss any chances to see Robin this year

Robin's very underrated. I've heard claims that he's a Jimi clone, but if you can't hear that his guitar playing has a distinct voice, then you're deaf!
