Topic: A fond fairwell
Hi folks
Just a quick word to say that I've taken the decision not to post on the forum anymore from the end of this year. Nothing sinister, I've decided the time has come to take myself away from intenet forums. I've got a challenging year coming up, both workwise and familywise and the time has come to dedicate more time to both.
I've had a great time on here and enjoyed communicating with you all. From discovering Joe several years ago to the highlight of meeting so many of you at the Royal Albert Hall, it's been a great ride. I've developed a lot from first hearing Joe's music and collecting all he had released to building my collection of blues and blues rock music from all ages. I consider many of you friends and I'll still be in email contact and via facebook with those of you that I know.
So I'd like to take a moment to wish Joe and his band all the success for the future. It's been a delight to see him move from the smaller venues to the large halls, where he is playing tonight. I hope that success continues and I wish Joe all the success he deserves in the future. I'd also suggest he looks to develop himself further and produce even more original songwriting as I think that is the key to even greater success.
To each of the regular posters here, I wish you well, and hope to see many of you again in the future. It's been great to encounter such like-minded people.
I'll still be active from time to time on my facebook page and still plan to contribute to Blues Matters magazine. So please feel free to say hi at any time. One thing I would ask is that while you follow Joe's career, you do also remember the venues where you first saw him play, support them and discover the bands that are playing there now. There's so much great music out there yet to be widely discovered, and a community of like-minded music fans on your doorstep. In the last year or so I've done much to discover mine and it has been very fulfilling.
I will still be looking at the forum from time to time, but not looking to contribute, (except perhaps when I see Joe live in the future). So all the best to you all for the future and have a great 2011.
