Topic: Joe and Beth Hart

Via FB Joe told that he was in the studio with Beth Hart. Would be wonderful to hear her on Joe's new album.

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

Sounds very interesting indeed ... does that mean 3 releases next year? New BCC, Joe´s own album AND a Beth/Joe album?

Hopefully I manage to see Beth next year too - in the past few years I was ALWAYS at one of Joe´s shows when she played in Nürnberg - very bad timing.

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

Sounds interesting, and glad this duet is recorded live in the studio. Maybe it's for Beth's next album?

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

Here's an amalgamation of facebook posts from the cave covering the sessions from Kevin Shirley. It looks like two efforts, one solo with several other guest artists and another with Beth Hart. I would venture to guess, since some of the Black Rock songs were lost in a mishap, the release was filled out with songs with several guest artists and is taking a new direction.

Caveman! Having the most fun you can have with your clothes on - busy mixing the Nashville sessions I produced with Vince Gill, John Hiatt, Joe Bonamassa and friends. No rock 'n roll egos to be seen anywhere! Heaven!!

Caveman! My last day in The Cave this year... spent mixing one of the last Joe Bonamassa tracks for his new album! Look for it about the end of March.

Caveman! The Cave may be closed 'til the new year, but that didn't stop us commandeering an L.A. studio and filling it with music - two last tracks for Joe's next album, and a "Soul" record with Beth Hart and Joe - and maaaan, does it sound amazing!!! Cut three tracks yesterday... my kids don't recognize me any more....

again I wouldn't want to overanalyze anything but from what i remember reading it was just one final mix of one song on the follow up to black Rock that got accidentally deleted. i think Kevin may have said it was still salvageable. i think the disc was never finished during the first session and the second sessions with guest artists were not really fill ins. of course i figure alot of it isn't all planned out ahead of time but anyway yeah thats what i remember reading, not like a chunck of recording got lost, just the one song and that was just as far as they got at that time, with the plan to finish there all along.
when he put stuff in his diary it was easier to look that up but better i don't obsess on it anyway

Well, reading between the lines, the session in Nashville was for Joe's new album and the post of "two last tracks for Joe's new album with other artists" says to me that the new album is a mix of Black Rock Studio recordings and at least 4 to 6 more with other artists. That would be potentially enough tracks for a double CD release. yikes  big_smile  The Beth Hart work seems to be for a separate release, although it just mentioned three, which could fit into a double CD as well. Looks like the next will be "Joe and Friends".  smile

Re: Joe and Beth Hart

None taken Jane. Just running the output through the sieve. 7.5-1 which was probably trashed and when recovery was attempted failed to meet specs = half a cd. Now we have two more recording sessions with multiple tracks. Something to think about during the off season. No Bogie for the last sessions in Malibu meant a new direction in my view. Just chumming up the waters to get some other input. There are many clues out there. Most do not point to much Rock. The only sure thing is Slow Train. I didn't mention the former Beach Boy Blondie who was also in on the sessions. Ready for some Surf Twang? tongue  lol Ya know I love to stir the pot.  roll

Rick, I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but are you saying Bogie was Joe's session drummer? I thought he was Joe's tour drummer and Anton Fig was the drummer on all the (studio) CDs. I assumed that's why both were invited to the Royal Albert Hall gig.
