Topic: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

Hi all you London Gig Buddies,

Just a quick reminder about tonight. I hope you can make it through the snow. I'm still waiting for it to arrive in the south east corner of Essex.  hmm

See you there.

gonna try taking the car out in a minute to see what the roads are like but it's not looking good for me. The Chilterns got hit quite badly.  sad

Re: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

The snow is really heavy right now here on the Isle of Sheppey sad . I'm starting to get very concerned that I may not be able to get off the island, and will be absolutely gutted if I can't get to the gig. Saw Chantel at The Bullingdon in Oxford on Monday night and she was in majestic form. And her new songs sound great.

Whether I get to the gig, or not, I just hope that there is a big turn out for Chantel tonight. She deserves it, and I do know that Chantel sees it as a very special gig for her to do.

SHOW CANCELLED

from Chantel on FaceBook

"Hi everyone, well the weather has beaten us. Just has the news from the 100 Club that due to extreme weather conditions in London and the cancellation of public transport, tonights gig has been postponed to the 26th of March, all tickets will be valid for that date. So sorry everyone, about to turn round and go 160 miles back home - really upset, I was so looking forward to tonight. Stay safe xxx  "

Re: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

Very disappointing but better safe than sorry. Thanks for keeping me updated and posting the cancellation David.

We'll have a Spring party in March instead.  smile

Bloody weather, what can you do? that's 2 meets & gigs thats gone bad now . ah well always marcus @ blues kitchen on 23rd

Re: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

Thanks to everyone who has been in touch about the postponement of the 100 Club gig due to the weather, that one was special to me, not only because of the venue, but playing after Sir Paul McCartney????

I've another problem, as part of the Christmas festivities, I'd bought mince pies for the first 200 people to arrive, so I'm now looking for deserving people near to where I live to assist in a pie fest, or alternatively fewer people who don't care about their figures.

Wishing everybody on the forum a lovely Christmas and New Year.

Love,
Chantel

Re: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

Thank you, Chantel. It was disappointing for us so it must have been much worse for you. Glad you arrived home safely.  smile

You could always donate the mince pies to a local homeless charity or church. Alternatively, invite a few people round to chez McGregor for sherry and mince pies. I'm sure Tripsy and family will help you out.  big_smile Sadly, it's too far for me.

Happy Christmas and New Year to you, Alan and Janet.

See you next year.

Re: Chantel McGregor @ 100 Club 18th December

Hi all,

Don't forget that if you've got a ticket for the cancelled December gig, it's valid for this weekend's gig, Saturday, 26th March, at the 100 Club.

I'll be playing a number of songs off the new album which should be ready in the next few weeks, although stripped down, as the album has all sorts of instruments on it, all very interesting, that's what happens when you've got a free hand to create the album that you want by bringing in musicians from all genres, maybe the music degree was useful after all, lol?

Hope to see you there,
Chantel

cool  cool  cool  I most definitely will be using my ticket from the cancelled December gig. I'm very much looking forward to it.

It probably won't affect us but there is a big demo in London that day. It's possible there may be knock-on effects to transport/roads even in the evening so leave plenty of time if you're going. You wouldn't want to miss any of Chantel's set would you?
