Topic: New 'smaller' amp day...

It's a RAT!

Literally...
18wRMS and that is very loud.

Thought I'd help the UK guys out a bit, rather than a Ceriatone.

Andy is a very nice guy...free overnight delivery and this sounds wonderful.
It's simple, but if you have a nice guitar and a good cable - sorted.

There are clips of his modified VJs, but I think I might make the first RAT plexi youtube video...if I can do it justice.

Just throwing it out there, because I know you guys are like me and always looking for new amps/builders and some of us want UK based stuff, because the import charges are so terrible here.
Plus this is less than half the price of an equivalent Cornell...and to me it sounds just as good and the build quality is excellent.

Re: New 'smaller' amp day...

How much did you get that for?
Looks pretty good, I look forward to your youtube video.

Re: New 'smaller' amp day...

I see you have a THD 2x12 cab. I'm considering a couple of those. Do you recommend them? (for Floyd and blues stuff).

Jimi - it was around £450...which isn't cheap..cheap...but it's far better than a mainstream reissue.

...and Andre - get one. I still haven't found a 4x12 that gets this sound - easily the best 2x12 there is. Mine came with G12 Century Vintages and if you buy brand new they come with THDs own set, but they are really similar to the Celestions, just aged by THD and 'flavoured' slightly.
No matter what speakers you have in it, the key is how it is ported at the back and the design of the cab...genius..the sound is very room filling and improves the sound of any amp. I'd love to hear a THD 4x12...must sound unbelievable.
They are quite pricey new, but if you can pick one up second hand...get it instantly. They are also extremely light with a balanced handle on the top.
