Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

Rusty, If you and Miri ever come back to the Milwaukee area, try and do it in summer for Summerfest. Not sure if you're heard about it before, but it is run every year and lasts 11 days. It usually takes place the last week of June and runs into the beginning of July. Multiple stages with all kinds of music going all the time. All music is included with your admission ticket except for the Marcus Amphitheater which has more national acts. However, people like Joe, Davy, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top and the list goes on, have all played at the free stages. It truly is a great time! smile Here's the website for future reference:

Concerning Aaron and the Hoodoo, here's one I recorded at a small club a few weeks ago. The guys were letting there hair down a little and it happened to be on the birthdate of Jimi Hendrix. So Aaron, Eric and Z gave us a little treat. Later, I asked Aaron about it and he said they were just, "messin' around a little". wink

"All Along The Watchtower", "Foxy Lady", "Star Spangled Banner" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vuayMKWJeY

By the way it's not your eyes, it's the club that's that dark! AND, I almost made my dancing debut; at about the 2:30 mark you'll see my friend Jacque swing into view and I'm pretty sure I'm the one swinging her. You might wonder how the video was taken then. Actually I had my mini tripod (about 4-5 inches in height) sitting on a side table filming the action. Hey, sometimes you just got to get out there!! big_smile

Roy, thanks for the info. We were always trying to avoid the holiday season, but the Summerfest sounds like a lot of fun. smile

Thank you, Roy. If we make it to the Great Lakes we definitely want to meet you!  big_smile
What a nice picture of you and the Thinline. You look so content - like a child with it's Christmas present.
Doesn't the Thinline have a name? Every guitar needs to have a name!

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

Haha! You're right, every guitar does deserve a name...but my Thinline is nameless for the time being- it'll come to me. My Silver Strat that my ol man gave to me, I cut my teeth on that guitar. She is named "Isabella." Still love that guitar even though I don't play her out.

Of course my Cigar Box guitar has a name, my band freaked out when they saw that the first time and said, "you got your lunch in that thing?" Ever since then she's been called "the lunchbox."

Happy New Year to y'all!

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

A Happy New Year to you too, Aaron.
"The lunchbox" - haha, not a nice name but I like it. Now you should hurry to find a name for your Thinline. Otherwise your band might find you one... wink

No problem Shreddy, happy to turn you on to some Hoodoo music. Plus, Aaron, Eric and Z are some of the nicest people you'd want to meet. I call it a winning combination. smile

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

I was able to make it out to see Aaron and the boys this past Saturday night at a small venue in Madison, WI. The place was PACKED and the crowd was eating them up, the boys were rocking.

They played a few songs off their new upcoming CD and I was digging it. I didn't know their song "Boom Boom" was new, I can't wait to get that one on tape. They also played a song called "Red Headed Woman" great story, drummer sang it, pretty good. I really love that cigar box sound... I mean "lunch box sound!"

I spoke with Aaron a bit and he said the new CD is going to be more bluesy. Music to my ears:) I told him he should hook up with Oli Brown, have Oli do a tour with him in the US and have Aaron tour with Oli in the UK. I'd love to see these guys together! How about it Aaron?!

Aaron, stay humble. You're one of the most down to earth guy's I've met. A lot of people will help you out and help spread the word  because of the man you are. I'm certainly one of them. Keep it real. Can't wait for the new CD.

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

One of these days I've got to get out to Madison to a club show for the guys. I'm sure they let their hair down in a hometown small club! Although, the Cadillac Joe Memorial Winter Festival was a blast too! smile

We've talked about getting their Street Team going and hopefully, that will be sooner than later. I know there are many people already spreading the word for Aaron and the Guys and they do it based not only on their talent, but what you said about Aaron Musiclova. Aaron is the kind of person that you not only want to see succeed, but want to help him do it. That's been the universal feeling among everyone that I talked to about Aaron, Eric and Z and it's how I feel too. I'm just happy to call Aaron my friend.

Roy

P.S. I for one am really looking forward to their next album! cool Oh, and you don't have to worry about Aaron staying humble, I told him I'd kick his a** if his head ever swells too much. wink

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

I love these guys so I wanna help as much as I can getting the word out!

Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo will be supporting the Los Lonely Boys at the Barrymore Theatre in Madison, WI next Tuesday night. For anyone in the area- check em out. It's cool to see a club artist rock it on the big stage! I'm really looking forward to seeing the Los Lonely Boys, I've yet to have that honor, this will be a really cool show.

Long live the blues!

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

Caught up with my good friends Aaron, Eric and Z this past weekend at the Lucky Street Music Festival in Grafton, Wisconsin. On what turned out to be a cold, foggy and chilly night, the guys as the normally do, torched the place. Here's a new song called "Devils Playground" that I recorded which will be on their new album due out this August. I predict this album is going to be very big and with the right notice, may be just what these guys need. smile

I have more from the show if anyone is interested.

We're just a little less than a month away from the August 16th release of Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo's new CD entitled "10:49". This song, "My Turn", is just one of the great ones that will be on it. Hope you all enjoy it! smile

Re: How about a little Aaron Williams & the Hoodoo to get you going today?

The "Official" video of Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo's song "Boom, Boom", which is off their soon to be released album entitled, "10:49". This collage of videos shows not only the fire of this band's live stage performance, but it incorporates the audio track off the album. Release date for album is August 16th. cool

By the way, the "10:49" album title is actually a time of day. Aaron's father, "Cadillac Joe" Andersen, who was a well respected Jazz and Blues Hammond B3 organist, passed away 2 years ago from a rare cancer at 10:49. Obviously, this album has deep meaning to Aaron, Eric and Z, but also to the many people who knew and were friends of "Cadillac Joe". A very fitting tribute to what I hear was a great man.

P.S. Play this one extra loud for Cadillac Joe, so he can hear it up above! wink
