Topic: Slides...

guys...

looking for a new slide for me guitar playing...
a smaller one for using pinky...
thinner (as in the bore) is the key thing...

had a wee look on net but most places want to sell you slides that are like pieces of tubing...

looking for a small piece of kit...

anyone got any ideas / places they know have a great variety..??

cheers...

Re: Slides...

try the dunlop eric sardinas slide. I always had problems getting a slide to suit my small hands. The sardinas is shaped perfectly and it slightly heavier at the top. Google sardinas preachin pipe.

Re: Slides...

I've stuck w/ Dunlop chrome slides for ages.  They're indestructible, not too big and heavy, and I like the tone (not too biting like brass, not too dull).  Not sure if they're small enough for you, I use it on my ring finger.

I bought a swivel slide (can't remember, maybe not that exact brand).  It seemed like a good idea, but I bought one that was too big for my fingers and that made it pretty tough to use.   Make sure you get the right size!

Re: Slides...

Most of the time I use slides and tonebars (lapsteel) by Rocky Mountain Slides. I use my slide on my pinky too so I got myself a few Shavanos from them. Maybe it is something for you.

Re: Slides...

How about this then. For those really tricky bends and fret work

Re: Slides...

The few times that I do not use a Rocky Mountain slide I use a Rockslide as they are metal (http://www.therockslide.com). I use a Brass Medium one. I have the Chrome version too, but I prefer the Brass sound.

Still my goto slide is the Shavano Middy by RMSC.
