Heck yes! I'll be flying all the way from Europe and need some help. I'm looking for places to stay and it's my first time in Pittsburgh. So, if you have any other tips, besides accommodation (museums, landmarks, etc) please let me know!

Since no one else has answered your questions I'll give it a shot. I don't live in Pittsburgh but close enough to visit on occasion. Relatives have stayed in the hotel you questioned and had no complaints.
I don't know how long you'll be in the Burg or what interests you the most but here are some thoughts.
The drive from the airport to Carnegie Music Hall takes about 35 min. The Rte. 376 Parkway takes you through a tunnel and across Fort Pitt bridge. From the bridge to the left you can see Point Park where the three rivers meet. Heinz Field and Three Rivers Casino are on the shore off to the left. To the right, along the river, is Station Square where you can take a boat tour on the Gateway Clipper Fleet. That's a great way to see landmarks and hear a dialogue about Pittsburgh.
If you Google those names you can get directions for the exit off Route 376 to get there. From Station Square you can continue down E. Carson St. and
...and here's the rest of the message...
"take a walk on the South Side." It's a old neighborhood being reincarnated restaurants, bars, tattoo parlors, vintage clothing stores, theaters, galleries, antique emporiums, piercing palaces, coffee houses and other interesting stuff and people. If you take E. Carson to Hot Metal Bridge you can cross back over the river to Oakland (where the Carnegie Music Hall is located.)
The building that houses Carnegie Music Hall also houses Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Carnegie Museum of Art. The Cathedral of Learning Nationality Rooms are across the street.

I do live in Pittsburgh and work near that hotel. I would not recommend this for your stay. Not that there is anything wrong with the hotel, but rather the location. First the drive to the event is going to require you to travel down a road that does have accidents that shut it down for extended periods of time. Not what you want, especially after traveling all that way. Second, the hotel is in the middle of nothing, at least that you can get to walking. You being accustom to driving on the wrong side of the road 
do not want to rent a car if you do not have to.
I would recommend you getting a hotel on Pittsburgh's South Side. Lots of things to do in walking distance or taking the T, our name for the Underground.

Getting close to show time and I'm getting psyched. This will be my third Joe Show - Greensburg 2009, Harrisburg 2010 and now P-Burgh in 2011. Looks like I'm doing the Burg tour....
I love the guitar sound and Joe can make them come alive. Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm watching a musician or a magician. Usually, after Woke Up Dreamin', I'm pretty sure it's magician. In 48 hours the elephant will disappear right in front of my eyes - again - and my ears will be very happy. Can't wait!
