Re: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
Thanks George - looked a bit less crowded than the day we were there.

I just came across this info on the "Life is good" clothing website. For anyone in the Boston area this weekend, Grace will be gracing the stage at this festival. Grace will be on the "GOOD VIBES STAGE" this Saturday September 11th.

GPN Fan site just announced pre sales for the 3 day set in Burlington Vt. culminating in a New Year's Eve bash. Venue is Higher Ground. http://gracepotter.tickets.musictoday.c … endar.aspx
Alas, so far away!
Rick
That's going home for her Rick. I did not know that Vermont turned out women that look like her!
Yeah, I won't be able to get there either.
Tres
If anyone is interested.....
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals will be appearing at Turner Hall in Milwaukee on Saturday, January 15, 2010. Tickets go on sale today at noon and it will be cabaret seating. For more info:

Grace Potter and three other divas of Pop are doing a USO gala tonight at the local Marine air base. Free for service members and dependents only. 15,000 tickets were given out. The show will be aired on Sunday nationally on VH1.
Rick
Just a bump and link. I was told by a friend who saw it that it was cool. Kind of an old style Bob Hope revue show. On tonight at 9 E and P. VH1. http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/divas/_2010/
Newbie-Question: Is there such a thing as a Grace Potter live album? I only have "This is somewhere" up to now, but as everybody´s praising her live-qualities.... I´m sure George will have an answer for me?

There is a limited edition 7 song EP "Live in Skowhegan" that came out early 2010 prior to the current cd. I still see this at many stores so I think it wasn't as limited (or not a big seller), otherwise depending on where you got the current cd, some stores had ones that came with a bonus DVD that included live footage.
Anyone on this forum going to Grace's Milwaukee show?

Yep, we'll be there Rev. Maybe we can sit together? Table for four up front?

Shades of Joe after Palladia - her website crashed last night after the show!
I'm seeing her Saturday night!
Eva - got you covered.

I am so pleased to see how Grace fever has grown around here!
If any of you manage to get anywhere near, please implore them to come to Europe. Tell her there's an old guy in Amsterdam who.....
Sandy, anything at all that you might be able to pick up for me or get signed and I'll love ya forever!
Eva, I have two live cds I got from Bob, The General - 2007, two nights in DC opening for the Mule, I will make copies for you. They're not stunning audio quality, but they're good enough to demonstrate what a kick-a s s band this is live....and how wonderful that Hammond sounds!
I hope all ya'll out there who get a chance to see Grace have a wonderful time - and I hope that her current live shows are not all glitz and legs, but that they still get down and smoke.
And a big thanks to the folks at VH1 for posting Grace with the Heart sisters from last nights show and making the video 'unavailable to users in my region'.
Grace got second billing on the promo since she is not one of the VH1 "divas". She and her band were by far the class of the show last night showing gobs of talent and style. She opened with the Paris/Oooh la la number, then shared Crazy on You with the Grace sisters. The number with the Grace sisters was outstanding and she played the Hammond, then strutted her stuff while singing Medicine down the runway and had the Marines smiling big time. You would have loved it George! I'm not surprised her site crashed. The server probably caught fire.
Rick
edit. try this for her Crazy on You combo with the sisters. Fan upload http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvkMnNp9Cy4
another, I sure hope this comes overseas for ya. Grace at her best.

Huge for GPN, shot to #1 on Itunes Rock!
I hope the links work Rick, because half my DVR is full of Grace for George's next visit. It's a shame she's so homely. Oh well, you just have to make the most of what you have. Cathy

I hope the second works Cathy, it was posted on FB and may be georestricted because it is a vh1 link. That would warm him up or he's moribund! Watch and you'll know 'cause she uses every bit of "it" to make the troops happy. I'll keep an eye out for any more fanvid posts for him, there were thousands of video recorders at the show. My friend who was there said she rocked the house. If I find any more, I'll send a link to him via FB. She got most of the airtime on the USO gig.

Right Hon, that woman is plug ugly, I only look at them gams.....
Thanks for the links Rick, and for the pic link you sent. I will watch the VH1 clips at work today as we're on US servers, but I can't download the clips. I expect that they'll appear elsewhere during the next days.

Eva - got you covered.
Sandy
Aaawww, thank you Sandy and George!! I´ll have to get more Grace material very soon (when the month of December is over, haha) - and if she´s on tour in March... maybe a NY date? Have to check on her website...
I really like when she does Otis Redding´s "Pain in my heart" ... I just couldn´t find a video with decent audio quality, but this one will have to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtPA7Dm0v6c . Where did all these musically talented pretty women come from so suddenly?
