Topic: Carol Ann JB 100 Has Landed (Joe Bonamassa Signature Amp) OH MY...

I can see why Joe has this amp in his arsenal-and not just because his name is on it! HA
This thing is an amazing amp that is very, very articulate and touch sensitve. It can go from clean to mean, all depending on how you attack the strings. It also cuts through a band mix like nothing I've ever heard. This is a tremendous blues/rock amp and one I'm very fortunate to have my hands on. It's bloody loud and not for the weak at heart!

Thanks Joe. #9 found a nice home in Seattle, WA and I'll be gigging it start the first of next year. World-class amp for sure!

I want to hear it man!  Post a clip.  Also, how does it sound at lower volumes?

Re: Carol Ann JB 100 Has Landed (Joe Bonamassa Signature Amp) OH MY...

I recorded a riff last night on it and will try to post by weeks end. The work week gets pretty busy... What I can tell you is that it records VERY WELL. With that said, I honestly do not think clips will do it justice. You need to hear this thing in a band setting to truly appreciate it.
It's by no means a low volume amp. I use it with an Aracom attenuator. Without the attenuator this amp would almost be useless for the clubs I play. It's bloody loud boys. I cannot emphasize the word LOUD enough! I also use a plexi shield and a sound absortion material inside the shield. My cabs are loaded with an EV12L and a Sugarcone. This mix sounds amazing to my ears! Joe needs to try a Sugarcone sometime. They are a tad bit warmer than the EV's and equally as tough. No cone cry whatsoever. I actually like the JB 100 as a rhythm amp right now more than a lead amp. I set my gain way back and it's great for riffs and such. Alan Phillips and Joe B. hit it out of the park on this one! To hear this amp blended with my Two Rock "Tone Dog" is ridiculous. They compliment each other so well! Man there are some good amps being built!
