Topic: Deconstructed Stones - Gimme Shelter

Guy in my band e-mailed me this link and I must say I found it fascinating listening to these isolated tracks, in particular Mick's vocal track. wonderful stuff.

I'm not the biggest Stones fan, but you don't have to be to appreciate their craft, and that of the producers and engineers concerned.

Excellent stuff...really nice to listen too. Though Watts and Wyman are hardly Bonham and Jones.

You realise just how good Zeppelin were when you listen to iso tracks...

...and how it's all production when it comes to Van Halen.

Fascinating to hear all the tracks separately. Can't you just picture them all with head phones on listening?

Yes Mike, the vocal track is very interesting, especially at the 2:50 to 3:00 minute mark when Merry Clayton's voice cracks belting out....Rape, murder, it's just a shot away, it's just a shot away...  I can remember a little Curby being lectured by his older brother how great a vocal track that gal layed down.  He was so right.

Interesting stuff.  This is one of my all time favorite songs.  My first concert was this tour back in 1969.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey, look who the cat dragged in! wink You think this lady is a little Stones crazy? Her three cats are named, Mick (Micky), Keith and they were going to call the third one Ronnie, but settled on Peanut. smile

50 years Jacque? Gosh, that's almost as old as you are! lol
