Hey Night Blues, I wouldn't worry too much about after show congregating, and Spider knows I do agree with him, not debating need for winding down. Actually Joe may wind down long enough "backstage" that he has many who will move on from assembling-I've seen after show crowds that only build and those that can quickly dwindle to a precious few. But as you are flying the gear head flag, pre-show is best to get the questions out and get up front and personal with his gear and setup which is a few thrown switches away from going live, if you catch my drift. But to just say hello, drop a quick compliment, shake hands & get a guitar autographed (and likely a nice comment), after show is ok too. Be mindful of the time of night and the next tour date (tomorrow?; 2 days away?; think how far away for driving either case, etc.). Good Luck in any case, and a big welcome to you!
Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket
