How much like the Jubilee is the Marshall 25/50 2554 1 x 12?

Be interested in comments...one going cheap on the 'bay.

How good is it at 25w?

AS much as I know is this !

they are not as good sounding IMO at 25watt as it switches the the valves from triode to pentode and yields a much thinner sound . so 50w  mode is best . the combos are based on the 2553 which I have, but they have fewer power capacitors but  dont know if it makes a difference to sound

other than that swap out the V30 for a evm12l and you will have a killer combo albeit heavy combo  big_smile

How does the 50 watt jubilee compare with the 100 watt jub that's cut to 50 watt?

At a guess

Would think the 50w would sound better than a 100w switched to pentode

honestly I dont know why they bothered with the triode pentode switch on the 100watter

as removing the 2 outside valves and adjusting impedence to suit would do the 50w thing

dont get me wrong it is still a very usable sound in pentode mode just lacks the B~LLS
