Topic: Ceriatone 2555

So this is a clone of the Silver Jubilee 2555. Anyone familiar with this? I'm thinking of getting one.....I believe it's a pretty good company!

Re: Ceriatone 2555

I haven't used one but have been tempted to order.
Looks like you can DIY or order it together for more $$.

They sound decent on YouTube if you can say anything sounds decent...
However many say they don't sound like a true JUB, but are faithful in terms of "you get what you pay for"
I wish they came in Silver Jub cabinet, but I'd like to give one a shot.

I'm not sure if I'd want the 100watt/50watt
or the 50watt/25watt... I'd predict the 100 watt would be cleaner sounding with less breakup but I'd never get it to open up. So I'd probably opt for the 50/25 version. hmm

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: Ceriatone 2555

I have built the Dumble clone and the kits are very good quality The 255 will be awesome and its all PTP

The originals are not even point to point I dont think you will be disapointed  wink

Re: Ceriatone 2555

I have one of their Trainwreck Express clones and it's my absolute favorite amp of everything I've ever played smile

Great single channel high gain amp for players who can work their tone from the guitar. I would imagine their Jubilee clone would be equally well built.

They're a great company to deal with too.

Yes, but the 50/25 watt is the 2550 right? Or am I wrong? Well, let me know how it worked out for ya...

That's right. I have it and it's absolutely fantastic. I took about 30hs. of break-in time and it's my favourite amp now. I mostly play it on the 25W setting. Sounds killer, even though it's on triode.
I have 5 Ceriatone amps and they're all great. Fantastic value for money. Another current favourite of mine is the 5E3. Perfect for small pub gigs or jams.

Yeah, but you don't HAVE to build it yourself? I'm not very technical...

Buy package 4, which is the complete amp fully assembled and installed in a great head cab.

Re: Ceriatone 2555

I just ordered the 2555 about a week ago and I can't wait to get it. I wouldn't get with the head cab though...it's mucho $ when you could just build a cab or get somebody to make you one.

Re: Ceriatone 2555

I have 2 amps from Ceriatone.  The 18 / 36 watt EF86 (like the 1974X Marshall witht he second channel being like a Vox) and the 2550.  This is the Jub 25 / 50.

They are great amps and Nik is great to work with.  Takes about 4 weeks to arrive, but it is built really solid.  All PTP.  I also am not technical, so I got the package 4 with the cab.  You will not be sorry with any of his amps.

The 2550 is my fav. amp.  I run on 50 (more head room).  I don't use the clean channel as there is a huge volume  change from one channel to the other.  I just use the OD channel and it is great.  Kind of a 1 trick pony, but the one trick is excellant.

I use a Fulltone Full Drive II, and a reverb and delay in the loop.  That's it.  It's wonderful.  Have no fear of Ceriatone.

But does the dirty channel also cleans up as well?

Re: Ceriatone 2555

My Jubilee will clean up, so I expect the Ceriatone to as well. Don't expect sparkly Fender clean though.

If it cleans up as Joe's, I'm fine smile

Yes. I only use OD channel for reasons pointed out by Jim above. Use the volume pot on your guitar and you're all set.

Re: Ceriatone 2555

Will be ordering mine soon big_smile
