Topic: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

I was talking with a club owner last night and it looks like Joe will be playing Oneida casino in September.  Also, apparently Joe's book agent is favoring theaters over clubs, so his days in the clubs may soon be over.

Anyway, plan on an indoor Joe gig at Oneida Casino in one of the ballrooms in September.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

I see by the tour dates page that Joe is scheduled to play two nights in early November at Oneida Casino. Would the September dates be in addition to the November ones? What are the ballroom shows like their?

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

Awesome! We had a ball seeing Joe at Oneida last year. Looks like it's time to plan another road trip.

I'm just saying.

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

I hope it falls on a weekend that I can come.
I love the theatre setting. The Weidner Center in GB would be fitting.

If it says Oneida, it will be at the Oneida Casino. Last year Joe was in the bar, which was an awesome setting if somewhat cramped. The staff told us that when they had him back it would be in the "ballroom" which I gather is their banquet hall. I think it's in the building by the bingo.

I'm just saying.

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

Did I type September? I meant November!

The ballrooms are between the casino and the hotel.  Nothing fancy, just a large room with questionable acoustics.  I've seen Twisted Sister there. (diverse musical tastes!)

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

The Casino lounge is great but small, I agree on the acoustics in the ballroom.... more than questionable, but what can you do?? Joe will be back in Green Bay this Fall.   Take care all and welcome Spring weather!! Joan in Green Bay

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

Update on the Pitman Theatre show in Milwaukee. I touched base with the promoter and tickets to that show don't go on sale until September.

I'll likely catch all 3 shows.  Milwaukee is on a Saturday, so that fits nice into most schedules and I am only 30 minutes from Oneida Casino for those shows.

I am kinda glad Joe isn't doing a 3-4 show run at the same venue.  I gotta say I was pooped out by the final night at Oneida last time!

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

I would love 3-4 nights in the lounge again - but guess all good things come to an end...
does this move to the ballroom mean only 1 show at Oneida?

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

I'll be looking into the Pitman show. Being on a Saturday, it might be do-able for me.  Maybe even Rockford on Sept. 2.   Green Bay is actually closer to us, but tough to get away on school nights.  Definitely need to see a show soon. Never saw the band live since the rythm section changed.  Got to convince the hubby too, since we saw Joe 4 times, and there's so many other concerts he wants to attend.  Still hoping for Summerfest, as there's no tour dates booked for that time, but I realize we're lucky he visits Wis. as much as he does!

It's a small venue in the lounge and Joe is just plain popular.  Plus the fact the shows in the lounge were free may have had something to do with packed attendance.

His concern with the last string of shows was that under 21 kids were unable to see him upclose and having to stand outside the casino/lounge area.  Now his show will be moving to the hotel ballroom, ALL AGES.  This will be great.

The shows will likely be charged admission, but probably only $20 - $25, which is extremely reasonable.

All ages!  I wish I had enough money to kidnap my students and bus them all to Green Bay for that show.   big_smile

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

He also liked the three shows because he didn't have to pack up and move on,plus, he wins money sometimes!!!    Gets  to stay in a deluxe room too, his celebrity status???  I look forward to his shows hoping for Shank hall this Summer too, maybe Summerfest???  :-)Joan

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

It looks like Joe will be at Oneida just one night. Here's part of the response I got from an e-mail I sent to Oneida Casino: "Joe Bonamassa will return for 1 show, November 5th, 2007 in the 3 Clans Ballroom. Ticket prices and on sale date have not been determined."

Re: Green Bay/Wisconsin Joe fans

Thanks for the followup Lee.  The ballroom is large and seats, if any, I think will be general admission once inside.

Now that we'll be aware from a busy bar/slot machines. I'll set up my gear to audio record.  Questionable acoustics, but I'll take what I am given.

there is a venue in Shawano, WI where bands play frequently...its an all ages venue. I'll have to look it up and drop the name.  Reaching the kids is SO important.  even more important that joe take advantage.
