Topic: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

I really don't have a proper reason to write this "story", but I figured that if anywhere (!) this would be the place where a soul might enjoy it smile

I'm now 20 years old and have been a Joe fan for about 3 years now. For 3 years minus 3 months I lived in Curacao, where, as you might imagine, Joe never performed. The closest would have been Atlanta, but that was obviously too expensive. Besides that, it have been 3 quite lonely years as Joe's music isn't quite popular in my age group! (little do they know, eh?)

But there was a bright shining light at the end of this tormenting tunnel! 3 months ago I moved (back) to Holland and even before I got here I already had this night booked! And so time seemed to slow down to the point where I thought the day was actually getting further away tongue

But finally, it happened! And frankly, I don't even have the words to describe it.. It was (in sincere honesty) a dream coming true smile I loved every second and will obviously grab every chance to see him again in the future smile

On a sidenote.. If anyone reading this was actually there at the Carre, you might have seen me and my brother + friends... We were the ones leaving the building with Joe's carpet ! smile Not your average setlist eh!? It made an already perfect night even greater big_smile

Greetings from.. just a fan smile (or am I a 'bonabuddy'? I think I've seen that term around here)

Welcome Peterb.
And that's the place to post your story.
You got a carpet. What else??? Haha.
Sorry, that I missed you and that carpet. I had to leave very early after the gig.
Now that you moved to the Netherlands, I'm sure that we'll meet some day.

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

Carpets, anybody carpets???
High quality carpets. Hand knotted, best yarn, wonderful colours!
Got your carpets here!!!
Anybody ?
And if you don't have money, you get one for free!!

Haha, I wonder if someone can tell a better story  big_smile

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

Sounds like everyone had a great evening.  Must admit at the end of a gig I usually go for the set list rather than the carpet but come to think of it ....

So c'mon then David, what's the story??? Blues Sissi has set the scene for ya.

Re: Carre Amsterdam 11-7

Well obviously we went for a setlist or perhaps a left-behind pick.. Stuff like that. But we were in row 12 so too late for any goodies.. Until our friend just asked "Can I have the carpet?". It was a joke at first.. But then the roadie said "Do you know what? Yes you can!"

It was hilarious smile

lol   You might have just set a new trend there Pieter!  Hopefully your friend didn't ask Joe to sign the carpet afterwards?

I saw you! We were hanging around in the lobby and I saw you guys walk past with the carpet. I smiled at one of you as it looked so unexpected. As far as I remember they'd even tied it up with gaffer tape for you  cool

Very cool story pieterB!! Since your first Joe experience was like a dream coming true, consider the carpet like your Magic Carpet Ride!!  smile  (Not an original idea, but if you never heard of Steppenwolf check our their song Magic Carpet Ride)

I think there are quite a few of us who would fight over it!

Thanks to everyone for all the good stories about the weekend in Holland - it is so cool to hear about everyone's "adventures."  Time to come up with a good excuse for another get-together.
