Topic: No more Ernie Ball guitars for Joe?

At the Carré Amsterdam gig november 11th I noticed Joe only played Les Pauls during the whole set (except for the V on Just got paid). I thought he always used the baritone Ernie Ball for the lower tuned Ballad of John Henry?

Re: No more Ernie Ball guitars for Joe?

I still use the Musicman guitars... I love them for a slightly brighter alternative.  In the case of Carre' the turn around between the Europe tour and American tour is only three days.  We had to ship some of the guitars back on that day so as to have them meet us here.  We used a cut stable of guitars for just that one show.

I went to the Breda concert and there he was using two EBMM's.
I saw the red three humbucker AL and the green BFR Luke (I guess). They sounded awesome!  big_smile

Did I miss the E.B Baritone getting fixed along the way? From where the airline broke it...

Where is that guitar now?

Re: No more Ernie Ball guitars for Joe?

The original Musicman Petrucci model was "altered" ie made into a Stienberger guitar on its was to Tel Aviv last year.  Musicman fixed the guitar for me and now is in the collection.  Its the one from the Albert Hall DVD.  All those guitars are pretty special to me.  Two of them in a year have been broken..  Not such a good statistic.. Thanks to A and S cases I have solved the problem.  plus they weigh 49.9 pounds all in.. It was great to see the look on Delta airlines faces when they thought they were gonna get a extra 100 bucks out of me. cool

Re: No more Ernie Ball guitars for Joe?

He used an Ernie Ball on "Mountain Time" tonight in Springfield, but used the blue Les Paul for "John Henry," and it wasn't in an alternate tuning (at least I don't think so). Sounded like he played it in E.

By the way, Joe, if you're still reading this thread, unbelievable show tonight. I was serious too, please come to Hartford (just not the Webster Theater - no use playing in an old porno movie theater). The Bushnell is beautiful, as is the Warner in Torrington and the Palace in Waterbury.
